Product Description

MODEL- A930 VENDOR- DELONGHI

FEATURES- 7Qt Fruit & Vegetable Strainer
This fruit and vegetable strainer is useful for making everything
from baby food to wine. The set comes with a 7-quart bowl, a paddle
attachment for the mixer, and two different screens, which offer a
choice between coarsely or finely strained fruits and vegetables.
Additionally each screen has a rough and a smooth side. The coarse
screen s rough side is useful for removing fibers from cooked
vegetables, such as kale or rhubarb, and for pureeing; its smooth
side is ideal for straining cooked fruits, such as plums. The fine
screen s rough side works well on pureed fruits and vegetables,
such as potatoes or tomatoes, while its smooth side sifts flour or
purees soft fruits, such as raspberries. All strainer components
should be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent.

5 out of 5 stars Simple, Works, Easy Clean-up   October 3, 2008

I've used other motorized strainers and different styles of hand-crank models, with varying results for my main two items applesauce and tomato sauce. I've had this one for a month and have used it to make tomato sauce, apple sauce, and grape jam. Not only are the two different sized screens nice, the textured side is a nice addition to straining. Oh did I mention easy cleanup? Hand cranks and some motorized strainers had lots of parts, grooves and other odd pieces to clean properly and easily. This model is all metal (YES HOORAY!!) and what you see is what there is to clean, a screen, the holder and the paddle. Since all your straining gravity drops into the mixer bowl, there are no puddles on the counter from leaky seals or overflowing containers. Now to use this you need the Delonghi or Kenwood stand mixer, but I could go on for days about how awesome that machine is... It's my first choice if I can't use an industry sized Hobart.

3 out of 5 stars Good, yes, it's good   January 6, 2003

The DeLonghi A930 hasn't got the depth, width, or strain to hole size ratio of the KitchenAid StrainMaster 2003, but it comes a very close second, and at this kind of price, you're not really going to know the difference. I strained pasta, I strained green beans, I strained broccoli, hell, I even strained my wrist pulling the damn thing out of the box, but it still gave me maximum performance time after time after time. If you want your veg straining, you don't need to look any further than this, unless of course, money's no object, in which case I'd go for the KitchenAid model. Mind you, at one cent off, you can't really say no to this bargain!
