Amazon.com Review With a capacity of 2.36 ounces, this sleek machine employs stainless-steel blades to grind enough coffee beans for brewing up to twelve 5-ounce cups of percolator, drip, or espresso coffee. The grinder can be filled with beans and the amount of beans it grinds can be selected with a dial that's calibrated by number of cups desired: 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12. During operation, lights above the on/off button flash on the grind selector, indicating when the grind is coarse, medium, or fine, permitting the grinder to be shut off when the desired grind is achieved. The grind selector displays the words "coarse," "medium," and "fine" along with the brewing method appropriate for each grind: respectively, "perc" (percolator), "drip," and "espresso." Clad in gleaming black plastic with matte silver accents, the hourglass-shaped grinder is thoroughly contemporary in appearance and has a rubberized grip and push-in cord storage. Rubberized feet prevent it from slipping during operation. It carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Good while it lasts.......... July 6, 2008 B. Ellenburg (USA) Purchased May 2007 - Dead July 2008.....while it worked it did a good job. But in the middle of a grind it went belly up......only the green lights flash on occasion.....cant recommend this grinder at all
It was good while it lasted June 26, 2008 D. Shumaker It was great for 30 days. On the 31st day the motor got hot and it just died!
DeLonghi Coffee Mill Disappointing June 15, 2008 Beth Sells (Colorado Springs, CO) We are sold on freshly ground coffee so we have a coffee grinder wherever we make coffee. We've had a Braun for years (it still works great after over 20 years but is in a different house) and recently broke a Proctor Silex mill (used for 5 years) and decided to try a new brand. I researched various brands on Amazon to try to find one with which people were pleased. The DeLonghi looked like a favorite but our experience has been disappointing. It has indicator lights which promise to alert you when the coffee has been ground to a specific consistency. However, it grinds inconsistently when ground "coarse" and becomes too fine (like powder for espresso) when the indicator designates "medium". The top is difficult to get in the right position (which is required before it will grind). Additionally, the top is difficult to pour grinds from without making a mess and losing some of the coffee. It's still working but we're looking for a replacement.
Stopped working within a month June 13, 2008 R. Raman (PA, USA) I read all the reviews (including the ones that said it stopped working), but it still decided to go for this. Was tempted given that I needed it to grind spices, and there were some good reviews. Was a bad mistake - it stopped working within a month like the reviews mention. Called up customer support - can ship it back, and mail a return payment so that they can give us a new one. However, that would apparently cost about $18 for the shipping back and forth making it totally worthless. I'm not going near this brand again across the board - there's plenty of other competitors to choose from.
Grind Away - Nice Spice Grinder February 18, 2008 R. Dellinger I bought the unit to grind dried chili pods (chipotle, etc.)and I must say the unit works very well for this application. It would be nice if the unit deposited the final product into an enclosed container instead of having to empty the product from the top of the unit - but it cleans up easily and so far works great!
