De'shorti August 19, 2008 Mariam The reason for my title is for this product's very short life. I bought this product from a local Macy's and it stopped working after one year. It just wouldn't turn on. Of course I couldn't return it because it was past the one year warranty stage. For the price I paid for it, I would expect it to last a lot longer than it did. Before this product, I had a simple (and cheaper) Black & Decker toaster oven that lasted for over 4 years. Also while it did work, the door sometimes wouldn't open all the way, causing a few burns on my wrist and hand.
POS! August 18, 2008 W. Todd Dominey (Decatur, GA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very, very bad. Can't toast at all. Flimsy controls. Very cheap feeling. Laughably expensive for what you get.
Terrible Piece of Junk July 31, 2008 George M. Valent (Denver) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this toaster oven because it seemed to be built well and had all the basic features I needed. Wrong! Within the first year, two of the three knobs on the front broke. They are made of a cheap plastic material. The knob to turn on the oven instead of the timer never worked correctly. I can't reach anyone at the company to help. They are useless and so is my $100 toaster over. Stay away from this POS.
Not what it seems April 27, 2008 Michael A. Moore (Houston) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Okay, after you read this, there are no other reviews needed. I hope someone from DeLonghi reads this, as this review will satisfy everyone (i hope). We purchased this oven after hearing nothing but good things about DeLonghi. We are pleased with the look of the oven. Its curbside appeal makes this oven look like a high end style oven. However, its performance does not hold up to the standards you would expect; 1) The timer is only good for 10 minutes. How many frozen pizzas take only 10 minutes to cook? Zero. This will require you to reset the timer twice. Although this maybe acceptable in most cases, it creates problems in the end. 2) If you decide to cook a frozen pizza, the back of the interor is "concaved" so that it will hold a 12" pizza. The problem with this is that the portion of the pizza that is in this "concaved" area will not cook. So, you have a 75% cooked pizza and a 25% raw pizza. 3) Back to the timmer deal again, we ATTEMPTED to cook a pork loin in the oven. After setting the oven temperature and placing the loin in the oven, we set the timer for the full 10 minutes. The loin needed an hour to cook, so this meant re-setting the timer 10 9 additional times. A royal PAIN. So, I told my wife to set the kitchen timer for 1 hour, which we did. As the loined cooked, we started our family actvities and forgot about the loin. We ended up in the backyard, where the timer went off and we forgot about the loin. You guested it! A burnt loin and no dinner. We discovered this about an hour after the timer went off. So, for the DeLonghi folks; Increase the timer time. Increase the size of the oven's depth by 2" and you will have what people want!
Don't buy it! December 1, 2007 Emily Z. 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After a month, this toaster oven completely stopped working. When it did work, the ticking noise it made while toasting was beyond irritating. It does not toast consistently.
