This toaster oven makes really good toast--and the digital controls are very user-friendly. It is good at baking, also--but you must be careful not to overbrown the bottom of your baked goods.
BTW, the notorious "beep" is not particularly loud or annoying.
This is a so-so product for the money June 13, 2008

This is an OK product. I expected it to be a much better quality. It does the job...but I wouldn't say it's any better than a $30 toasted oven. I have heard so many great things about DeLonghi and will give them another try. However, I would pass this product in particular up if/when we need another toaster oven.

I have owned this toast-r-oven for two years. A power failure "fryed" the digital works. I was unable to get it fixed as parts were no longer available. I searched the web and I was able to find the last (known) Delonghi XD479B toast-r-oven for sale. I quickly bought it. It is the best four slice toast-r-oven I have ever owned. I believe this product is no longer manufactured. I don't know which Delonghi toast-r-oven has replaced it nor do I know why (if) it has been replaced.

This toaster oven covers all needs from baking, toasting
and warming foods. Easy on the hands, with buttons. Lights and signals give freedom to continue working around the kitchen.
Great addition to a busy kitchen.

DeLonghi XD479B - Great Toaster Oven. Received it 2 days ago.
So many reviews about loud beeps, they don't exist in my unit. Beeps are at a normal and comfortable level, same as my microwave oven. The factory has probally reduced it for units being shipped now.
Tried the toast, broil and bake modes, all worked perfectly. Easy to operate. The timing for the toast mode is preset to a nominal 4 min. time and you can adjust that up/down with the push of a button for whatever your toasting and your preference (simple).
The temperature for the bake mode is preset to 350 degree and you can adjust that up/down in 50 degree increments with a push of a button (simple). Never had a chance of getting close to the correct toast time or oven temperature with the knobs(inacccurate) in our old unit, it was all guess work.
Amazon gives the dimensions of the box which was misleading to me. I believe the majority of purchasers of this type of item are more interested in the actual unit size. We were very much concerned about counter space as I think most consumers are. The dimensions of the unit are approx. 14.5 " Width x 8" Height x 10 " Depth. (1200 watts)
The only unknown thing is reliability and time will tell about that.
Would recomend this toaster to anyone and I give it 5 stars.
