DeLonghi's Alfredo healthy grill is a no-nonsense appliance that, while compact, is roomy enough to grill two large, whole trout to a flaky tenderness without flames that add smoke and carcinogens. It sets up much easier than most outdoor grills, as there's no charcoal to add or gas pilots to light. Simply set the raised grilling platform on the base and plug in the thermostat, then spray the nonstick grilling surface with a little oil and let it preheat for about 10 minutes. What you can add is flavor, either by basting during cooking or by using the AromaScenter, which boosts taste without adding calories. The AromaScenter is an oval cup that nests in the base of the grill. Fill the cup with water and your favorite herbs, spices, or smoked wood chips; as the grill heats, the steamy flavorings permeate the food. Soft fruit and vegetables, such as pineapple, eggplant, or summer squash, grill well on the low heat setting, while the medium and high settings are best for sealing in the natural juices of fish steaks, chicken skewers, hamburgers, and pork ribs. Safety features, such as a nonexposed heating element, a splatter guard, and stay-cool handles and base, enhance the attractiveness of the indoor grilling experience. Love the grill, hate DeLonghi's customer service and US parts supply. I ordered a replacement electric plug 6 months ago, and with each inquiry I get exactly the same form letter about it being on backorder. So guard those component pieces like gold -- you don't want to lose them!

Overall I have enjoyed this grill. It would be better if it had a more convenient way of disposing of the grease and it does tend to smoke and spatter more than I thought it would. I had a Farberware indoor grill years ago that I really loved but they are no longer available. I bought a George Foreman grill and really didn't like that..it is on my garage sale. This is the best I have found since the Farberware grill and the food does taste good cooking on this grill.

We purchased this grill March 2007. Find that it heats quickly, but it does not cook chops, hamburgers as fast as outside grill. Taste is terrific, just like outside cooking.

I purchased this grill for my parents who spend the winter months in Florida. Because they are in a condo they need a grill that comports with the restrictions found in nearly all apartment communities. Stated simply they absolutely love the grill. They found the grill easy to use and simple to clean. They also found the grill works flawlessly and cooks excellent and flavorful food. It was a total success. They highly recommend the grill.

I have always had outdoor gas grills. Recently I moved to a condo where outdoor grills are not allowed and it became a quest to find the ideal indoor grill. I had seen a DeLonghi grill at a gourmet kitchen supplies store for a cost of $99. I proceeded to research the grills on the internet and found that the DeLonghi BG16 had great reviews. I ordered it at a cheaper price from Amazon and I am very happy with it. It cooks the food evenly and quicky and it also leaves the grill marks on the food. My husband has also used it and he loves it. It is also super easy to clean. I recommend this grill without hesitation.
