Amazon.com Review
Steam away creases in a badly crumpled shirt with the Compact Pro 300 Ironing System from Italian home appliance giant DeLonghi. The iron improves upon previous steam irons with its enhanced pressurized boiler, constructed to convert even harsh tap water into steam. With an adjustable thermostat and varying steam levels, the professional ironing system accommodates a wide variety of fabrics, ranging from delicate silks to cotton and linen. The well-designed iron handle adapts for left- and right-handed users alike.

The steam iron features a heavy-duty aluminum soleplate with a polished satin finish for snag-free, smooth ironing with even heat distribution. DeLonghi crafted the boiler in two materials to extend its steam conversion capacities, using stainless-steel construction in the upper portion and a super-alloy bottom. For greater thermal heat, the boiler tank is molded to enable the heating to rest within the bottom. The tank holds up to 1 liter of water for 2 hours of steam ironing. Users grip the ergonomically friendly cork handle to operate the iron. The ironing system also adjusts to steam vertically for curtains and hanging items. As with all electrical appliances, read the enclosed warnings and user guidelines for the steam iron before use. This item is covered by a limited three-year warranty and weighs 13 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

5 out of 5 stars Simply the Best   March 3, 2008

I needed a steam iron and made the decision to buy this one after reading the reviews. I agree with one person who said: "If you need a steam iron buy this one." Previously my Jeans and Cotton clothing was sent to the cleaners but not anymore. My jeans as well as other cotton items look professionally done. It does a good job on other fabrics as well, wool, synthetic etc. but follow the instructions. This system took a little getting use but I soon got the hang of it. I pressed blue Jeans and other cotton items without using seam and then steamed them and got a very smooth press. For me, this method was fast and easy.

5 out of 5 stars Now I can't wait to pull out the ironing board...   January 8, 2008

Not only is this the best iron I have ever used, it also makes ironing fun! Hard to believe but true! No longer do I have to suffer the smell of spray starch or the frustration of seeing wrinkles after spending time diligently ironing shirts.

Although this unit is several times more expensive than the average iron you'll immediately see the payback in reduced ironing time and professional results. Not only am I saving $60/month in drycleaning, I no longer need to replace shirts every 6 months due to the harsh drycleaning treatment. So based on my calculations this iron has paid for itself in the first few months of owning it.

Well worth the money spent!

I used to hate ironing, but now I love it!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best iron I ever had. It used to take me 20-30 min. to iron my husband's dress shirt, but now it takes 5 min.!!!
I had to wait over two months to get the iron, but it is nothing compared with the comfort and pleasure of ironing with it now. If you need a new iron buy this one and nothing else!

I iron every day. For the past eight years, I've used "steam generator" irons. Without question, this is the finest I've ever purchased. The feature of being able to move the cord for right or left handed use is brilliant. It also helps even if you move the iron and your plug is in a different spot. The pressurized steam is extremely hot and powerful. The cork handle never gets too hot to handle as many other brands do. No matter what setting it is on it NEVER drips, which happened with all my other brands of steam generator irons (Rowenta included). The best $200 I ever spent!

Add me to the list of happy PRO 300 ironers: I'm not sure that it cut my ironing time in half, but at least I feel that I'm actually accomplishing something by ironing, not just running a flat thing over wrinkles.
