Amazon.com Review Banish the chills this winter with the energy-efficient Safe Heat Oil-Filled Radiator from industry leader, DeLonghi. Solo, the quiet radiator serves as an alternative heat source in small and medium rooms. The 110-volt radiator also complements a central heating system, bringing warmth to high-use areas while the main system runs on low for more cost-effective heating. The radiator construction features rustproof metal for even heat distribution and resilience with pure diathermic oil completely sealed inside. Heat radiates through several vertical thermal tunnels while keeping the hot elements enclosed and out of the reach of fingers and other body parts and objects. Three power settings allow flexibility for diverse rooms and personal heating needs. For energy efficiency, the heater runs low at 600 watts or medium at 900 watts to slowly spread warmth. On high at 1500 watts, the radiator brings full heat to the room with extra speed. Users direct the room's temperature for comfort with an adjustable thermostat. With a 24-hour programmable timer, the heater offers 96 options in terms of temperature, wattage, duration, and activation time. An antifreeze function engages should the indoor temperature fall below 44 degrees F, while the heater also automatically shuts off upon knock-over or overheating. Four wheels enable easy transportation from one room to another. The power cord wraps around for storage. DeLonghi advises against placing the radiator too close to power outlet, outdoors, or near flammables. Avoid running the power line under carpets. Thorough safety guidelines and assembly instructions are included. The radiator weighs 23 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Quiet and reliable June 16, 2008 Janford A. Hof (Gambrills, MD USA) Followed advice from the other reviews-put it outside for an hour with the heat up to medium or so. The new smell pretty much went away after that. A little difficult to understand how to get it started at first, but that is not a problem now. Got it for my 95-year old mother to keep her warm, and it does fine in a medium size bedroom. Quiet and no problem about touching it while it's on-no surface is too hot.
Excellent May 12, 2008 Skylick This oil-filled radiator heater costs more than cheaper models of the same brand because of the safety top. This is the second one I have purchased in the last 12 months. No noise and no problems.
Works well April 28, 2008 Artworks (Cape Cod, MA) DeLonghi TRD0715T oil-filled radiator. This works pretty well in a basement room once it gets up to temperature - which is about one hour. If you need immediate heat, then this would not be a good choice.
Noisy noisy April 25, 2008 Charles J. Pierce (Tennessee) I was very unsatisified with this heater. It did a fine job of putting out heat, but I was shocked at how much noise it made. whenever the heating element would turn on it made loud popping and splattering noises. It sounded like boiling oil. We had bought this unit to put in our babies room, but it makes way too much noise to be in a bedroom...and we're not talking "white noise", it's a very loud and annoying popping sound. Thank goodness amazon has such a hassle-free return policy. I sent it back.
Highly Recommend! April 9, 2008 William R. Baker (Fowlerville, MI United States) This HEATER is "THE BEST" for the money. Did everything as advertised and is VERY quiet!. Let it run on high in a ventilated area (garage, etc.) for an hour or two to remove the protective coating on the metal and you are on your way to quiet and efficient heat!
