Amazon.com Review
By powerfully emitting steam with a pump-injection system this electric mop deep-cleans all floor surfaces, including carpets, tile, and hardwood. It comes with a universal cleaning cloth that clips onto the bottom, removes easily for washing, and cleans an 11-1/2-inch path. For convenience, the water reservoir can be removed and filled at the sink, and for safety, the mop automatically stops emitting steam when the handle is at either the full-vertical or full-horizontal positions. That allows it to warm up while the handle is upright and prevents problems if the handle is dropped when the phone rings or a child cries. The quick-acting mop produces steam from cold water in just 30 seconds. The handle telescopes for individual preference. The mop carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars Wish I had gotten this sooner . . . but it's not perfect   June 24, 2006
Lisa Manske (Wauwatosa, WI USA)
I LOVE having this for my wood floors. It is so easy to get my floors sparkling clean without using chemcicals that could make my kids sick. It's wonderful to know your floors are super clean, yet be able to let your baby play on the floor. It heats up really fast. I recommend buying the replacement cloths right away. I like the replacement cloths MUCH better than the cloth that came with the mop. It's terry with elastic to hold it on. You can also use your own cloth.

I only gave this 4 starts because of a few design flaws that should've been caught by the QA department at DeLonghi.
1. The cord is WAY too short. It should be twice as long. Also, there should be two hooks for wrapping the cord, not just one.
2. The handle doesn't lock securely in the upright position. When the handle is upright, the steaming action stops, but the handle can be easily tipped over. Don't walk away from this mop when it's turned on.
3. It's not easy to fill. You're supposed to be able to remove the tank and fill it at the sink, but I can't get this to work without spilling water everywhere. I leave the tank in the mop and use a funnel to fill it. I shouldn't have to do that.

Even with these flaws, I still LOVE this mop and am glad I bought it. I want my floors to be clean without alot of effort and this mop does that for me. I just wish they had fixed these few things.

I have loved my steam mop. I haev a baby and a dog and it is SO much easier than the bucket mop and it does an excellent job. It was exactly what I was looking for. I had cleaned my floors thoroughly before it arrived adn thought they were really clean. This got them even cleaner!

Pros:
-Quick to set up and use
-Easy
-No chemicals, steam is hot
-Floors Dry quickly (about 5 minutes)
-Continuous Steam output
-Steam comtrol is by handle position rather than rtigger so your finger does not wear out
-Excellent job on dirt/regular mess, pretty good on dried on food (requires more than one pass for food gunk)
-Mop heads/cover can just be tossed in the washer. Easy and inexpensive
-you do not have to use special mop covers, towels work fine

Cons:
-Only good for relatively smoot tile, rough/highly textured tile will tear the pad up
-Pad enclosed with mop is worthless, but regular towels and replacement pads work well
-really need to use distilled water with unit, because steam output significantly decreases with tap water after 5-10 uses (not a big deal, a gallon of distilled goes a long way and is $.59/gallon)

2 out of 5 stars Didn't work well for me   October 29, 2005

After reading some of the reviews, I thought this would be a great product. I had bought a similar cleaner at Wal-Mart for $30 so for $60 I had hoped this one would be much better. It wasn't. It leaked continuously. When I went from one room to another it left a trail of water. The floors were saturated when finished. The appliance is heavy, especially hard to push when full of water. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it did get my floors looking clean but so does a $5 mop!
I can NOT recommend this product.

2 out of 5 stars I'm disappointed!   October 17, 2005

This steam mop does a great job cleaning, however, the down side outweighs the good points. The handle is not sturdy, and came off a few times while using it. The cloth that came with the mop was flimsy and came apart after using it one time (I used an old towel the second time I used it), but it was difficult to tighten any cloth to the mop. Once the cloth got wet it became looser which made it hard to mop the floor. Needless to say, after 2 tries, I sent it back.

I have previously owned steam mops. This is my third style and it is by far the easiest to work with. Being able to put any type of cloth on it will be so much less expensive. Its easy to change the clothes and has an adjustable handle allowing you to make it a comfortable length based on the height of the user.

I would highly recommend purchasing this item. I have ceramic tile floors throughout and it really works well and is very reasonably priced. I have parrots and wanted something that wouldn't have to use any type of chemicals, we have a very environmentally safe household.
