Great! I am Now Better than Starbucks October 5, 2008 T. Conley (Southern USA) I love this little pot. For those of us who wake up earlier than Starbucks opens...this is wonderful! I have learned to make lattes, mochas you name it. Now friends stop by just for MY coffee! Worth the money....don't forget to get the Italian Espresso! So yummy!
A very good milk frother September 28, 2008 Ronen Aronov (Ann Arbor, Michigan) I used this product before and I really like the milk frother, which I use for capuccino. I noticed the teflon is wearing down very quickly. I used to have a European version of this product which did not wear down for years. In addition and thats the main problem, for me the Maccinata is just a waste of money, I actually only wanted the frother. The frother performance is superb, just like a professional espresson machine.
best product out there for super creamy cappuccino September 14, 2008 Julie Baron (New York, NY) I discovered this item when I was subletting an apartment in Germany. The people from whom we were renting had a standard cappuccino maker with a side steamer, but the steamer wasn't working well. I asked the apartment owner if there was a trick to the machine, and she pointed me to this amazing frother. It does require a significant amount of effort to get truly thick, foamy milk, but it will happen. Fill it about a third of the way with cold whole milk for a large sized cup (or two smalls), heat and pump somewhat continuously after a few minutes. Once the milk expands to a few inches from the top and is hot, take off the heat, then pump until you see very soft peaks at the top. The best cappuccino ever awaits. The tuttocrema in this size is not as good for 2 as for one if you are using large cups. They sell a larger version in New Zealand and South Africa, and perhaps in Germany (they strangely don't sell this at all in Italy, to our great disappointment), but it is hard to come by. However, if you plan to make enough for just one large or two regulars, it is sufficient. The coffee maker also makes a very respectable cup of coffee (we use illy that is expressly made for the Moka). Don't tamp the coffee down - that's really the secret. I cannot recommend this machine enough, though if you have more than one cup a day and really like thick foam, you may get tennis elbow!
easy lattes at home!! September 8, 2008 mmc 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i just love this little thing. i make lattes almost every morning now. i set the pot to percolating (about 10 mins or so), and clean up the kitchen a little bit. then, when it's done, i heat a cup of milk in the microwave with the amount of sugar i like. finally, i add the espresso, and it's fabuloso! the only thing is, i rarely ever use the milk frother. if you are a cappuccino lover, the frother would be essential. but in lattes, there's only a small bit of froth and it's not nearly as important. so, to simplify my life, i just microwave and be done, and avoid having to handwash the frother. so, if you don't care too much about froth, i'd recommend just getting the percolator and saving a few bucks. happy latte-ing!
BEST coffee maker - no need for Starbucks now :) August 7, 2008 Heather L. Scott (Wash, DC) Since getting my Bialetti, I make my own lattes at home for just pennies and LOVE it - highly recommend as it is so fast and easy to use too.
