Perfect! November 21, 2007 Teri (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this little gem shortly after my Bialetti. I didn't read the full description of the Bialetti and was terribly disappointed when it arrived and found it to be aluminum. Hopefully I won't develop Alzheimer's for the short time I used it until I found my wonderful little Vev. First off when the descriptions say 6 cups or however many cups it is not meaning the standard 8 oz to a cup. It's referring to those small expresso cups which are something entirely different. I think my expresso cups hold about 4 oz's each. Anyway, I wanted to clear that one up as it seems it's not the first time I have seen someone confused over how much these hold. I did fret over the price of this one but it was worth every penny. It makes a fabulous expresso or cup of coffee. I have found it very easy to care for ( I use a handled sponge to get inside it) and it stays out on my stove top because it is really beautiful to look at. I have had no problems with mine leaking and the seal is super tight. I am so glad I found this kind of maker in stainless. These would make great gifts for the expresso lover. Oh, and I also HIGHLY recommend the Aerolatte frother to go along with the Vev. I warm my milk in the microwave for about 15 seconds before frothing and it makes froth comparable to any big coffee chain. Also a great little item for mixing cocoa and powdered drink mixes.
A great machine! September 8, 2007 Louis F. Spagna (Cullowhee, NC, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have 5 stove top espresso makers and 4 of them are VeV Kontessas - a 2 cup, a 6 cup and two 12 cups. All machines make great espresso if you follow the instructions. We brew 'American coffee' in them as well varying amounts of ground coffee to taste. Had a bad pressure valve on one of the 12s and Vev replaced it. Had handle fall off other 12 awaiting Vev reply but anticipate no problem with warranty replacement. Never had any problems with the 2 or 6 cup machines in the 10 years since buying the first one. I would not send a bad product as a gift and I intend to send one of these as a gift this year.
Fantastic high quality espresso pot July 19, 2006 G. Brandi 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Hmmm No crema??? You obviously don't know much about coffee, you can't get crema with ANY stovetop espresso percolator. Only a coffee machine gets crema... Anyway, the kontessa I have makes great coffee and is pleasing to the eye.
Awesome Espresso! June 12, 2006 ATuxedo (VA, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been searching for the perfect cup of espresso since I left Italy a few months ago. This is the first stovetop espresso maker I've used that captures the true flavor of Italian caffe'. I highly recommend it.

I was very excited when I got this, because it looks so beautiful. I love good coffee and I wanted to replace aluminum espresso maker with stainless steel. It was more difficult to operate and seal leaked! Espresso taste was mediocre. I was really dissapointed that functionality did not follow design.
