fabulous. August 17, 2008 Emily Mathis (Providence RI) I'm actually looking at these on amazon because the handle on the one I've had for over 10 years just suffered a little break this morning, and I was wondering about replacing the piece. I've used this espresso maker *daily* for that whole time, and it's definitely great. I like Bialetti -- they're the original -- and I choose stainless steel because of the health questions regarding aluminum. I make two full cappuccinos with the 6-cup, and it's delicious and perfectly hot.
Indispensible! May 2, 2007 overseas shopper (FPO, AP United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this stovetop espresso maker because I live abroad (without a Starbucks, or anything like it, in sight), and I really missed good lattes and cappuccinos. I didn't want to pay $500+ for an espresso machine, though. I've been using the coffee maker for over a year now, and honestly, I don't think I could live without it. It makes a great espresso (depending on the quality and grind of the coffee you use), and along with my Aerolatte, great lattes and cappuccinos as well. I only replaced the gasket twice during the year, so it's cheap and pretty much maintenance-free to use. I bought the 4-cup size, which is perfect for a big mug of latte. It does make 4 reliably sized espressos. I doubt this coffee maker will wear out anytime soon, but I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
