Product Description Uncommon grounds. Anyone who appreciates a top-notch cup of hot espresso will love this Capresso machine. The striking art-nouveau design is just the beginning; it's also equipped with a high-pressure 18-bar pump for authentic, aromatic and eye-opening results. One-year warranty. Model 113.
Amazon.com Review The Capresso Espresso Classic Luxe makes a great espresso, with the mellow flavor and beautiful crema that one might expect from a neighborhood cafe. Its continuous-steam design means it holds the steam in a reservoir, ready for running espresso shots or frothing or steaming milk for cappuccinos, lattes, or hot cocoa. The black-and-chrome chassis looks great on a kitchen counter. With a 1200-watt mechanism, this espresso machine combines power with good design. Two toggle switches on top of the machine set the machine to on/off and steam/hot water. A red light indicates the machine is on; an orange thermostat light tells when it's heated up and ready to go. And the selector knob on the front of the machine has settings for brew, steam, and hot water for tea or just for warming up cups for espresso. The Espresso Classic Luxe comes with a full complement of accoutrements. A 40-ounce removable water reservoir has a filter and self-sealing valve; there's a handle to make it easier to lower it into place. The self-locking filter arm comes with three sieves; one for single-shot pulls, one for doubles, and one specially designed for Capresso coffee pods. The drip tray with grid insert can be easily removed for rinsing. And there's a handy measuring scoop that does double duty; it has a tamper at the other end for pressing down the ground coffee. The frothing arm has detachable rubber components that need to stay clean for even frothing; detailed cleaning instructions are included in the enclosed booklet. The machine measures 10-1/4 by 11 by 12-1/2 inches; while in use, the filter handle extends an additional 5 inches. Capresso espresso machines come with a detailed instruction booklet and a year's guarantee, during which customers are offered free troubleshooting via telephone and free repair or replacement in cases of malfunction. --Garland Withers

Great looks but does not work. October 11, 2008 W. Tseng (San Diego, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
A great espresso machine... if it worked as advertised. The unit arrived via Fedex Home delivery. The packaging show no sign of wear or damage. But this unit does NOT heat up the water. After setting it up, I turned it on and waited for its to preheat. The ready light never went on and the water is not heated at all! The pump did work and water flow out of the unit but the unit is just defective. Judging from this experience, the quality control of this model doesn't seems ok to me. Strongly NOT recommended.
Great flavor, but mind your grind May 5, 2008 Raman T. Raja (Sunnyvale, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this a few weeks back. I was initially disappointed with the quality of the shots. It turns out that the grind and quality of the beans are paramount for this machine. This is generally true for all machines, but more so for this one. Overall, excellent flavor extract with no bitterness at all. It equals or betters Starbucks Barista espresso maker. I attribute it to the sustained pump pressure and valve mechanism. Use a dark roast (Peet's in the SFO Bay area) for best results with a close to fine grind. If grinding at Peet's, use a setting of 4/5 (their default is 3 for espresso). If you end up having a finer grind, use a small amount of coarser grind at the bottom and put the finer grind at the top. This works beautifully well for me.
item not working April 17, 2008 Heather Moechnig Item recieved and would not work (pump water). However, return process has seemed easy so far.
Disappointing August 26, 2007 Jason Mcclelland (San Jose, CA, USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just bought my Jura Capresso Espresso in May, and the pump died on it yesterday. It never seemed to generate the 18 bars of pressure Jura Capresso claims: I wouldn't get crema no matter how coarse/fine of grain I ground my beans.
The ultimate Espresso Machine for the money. October 9, 2006 C. Rogney (St Paul, MN USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have used this unit for over 2 years now and it's still making great Espresso and Capaccino! Ultra low maintenance and easy to use. This is the only way to make and enjoy coffee. Of course a good coffee helps... I use Medaglia D'oro Caffee' Espresso from Caffe Nero (my local grocer carries it). I've also enjoy illy and Lavazza. You will not be sorry with this product!
