Product Description Cuisinart DBM8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Coffee Grinder - Grinding coffee beans just prior to brewing coffee delivers the optimal level of natural oils and flavonoids. The result is a fresh, delicious, complex-tasting cup of coffee that is pleasurable and satisfying. So forget about store ground coffee if you want to get the most flavor from the coffee bean. Grind those beans yourself just before you make your coffee. You'll appreciate the difference. Heavy duty motor 18-Month limited Cuisinart warranty
Amazon.com Review A stylish grinder for the serious coffee buff, this Cuisinart Supreme Grind automatic burr mill provides plenty of options and good results in an attractive and tidy structure. This makes it a great appliance for houses where coffee is a steady dietary staple and preferences vary from espresso to French drip. Outfitted with a heavy-duty motor, the machine has 18 grind settings ranging from fine to extra-coarse, which are controlled by a clearly marked, pleasantly clicking dial. Rotate the hopper to personal preference, and the machine does the rest, using burr plates for a highly uniform grind that protects bean oils and releases more flavor. Automatic operation in this grinder covers quantity as well--simply set the amount slide control anywhere from 4 to 18 cups. The grinder shuts off when the desired level is reached. Transfer of ready grounds to a coffee pot or espresso group is quick and tidy, because the grind chamber slides out with its clever lid in place. Smart and elegant, the grinder has brushed stainless steel housing and black accents in durable plastic. The hopper, hopper lid, grinding burr, and grind chamber all remove easily for cleanup, and a safety feature keeps the grinder from operating without the hopper and chamber in place. Standing 6-3/4 by 9-3/4 by 5 inches, the unit has built-in power cord storage at its base. Cuisinart includes a coffee scoop/cleaning brush in one and covers the machine with an 18-month warranty. --Emily Bedard

Not durable November 19, 2008 S. Stovall (Steilacoom, WA USA) I have owned two of these. The first lasted a little over a year. The second only a couple of months. Both burned up during use. My wife and I drink cold brew coffee almost exclusively requiring that we grind a pound of coffee each about every two weeks. We were excited about the grinding capacity, but clearly this is not a unit meant for much use.
Makes Delicious Coffee! November 11, 2008 A Howlett (Seattle, WA) I love this grinder. Got it two years ago for Christmas and the coffee is so, so, so much tastier than the kind my old entry-level Krups grinder generated. In addition to the better taste of the beans, I also really love the fact that you can set the number so you don't have to measure the beans. I've stopped going to Starbucks and I don't really miss it. I don't use the grinder for espresso, just coffee. Really strong, tasty, coffee, made in my Capresso brewer. Yum! I'm writing in today because I was really shocked by all the negative reviews.
9 months and broken November 8, 2008 JB I had this grinder for 9 months and now the timer function no longer works. To grind I have to hold down the start button. Called customer service and they can't help me without a receipt. When I gave them my model and serial, they claim the unit is 2 yrs old and doesn't fall under their 18 month warranty. I would have given this 4 stars if it kept working. It was a bit messy but ground the coffee just fine. Totally dissatisfied customer.
Great grinder! November 6, 2008 G. Ouzts This is a great coffee grinder for the price! Its a bit loud, but it does an awesome job grinding beans! Highly recomment this product!
Great little burr! October 27, 2008 T. Tom (Los Angeles) I've owned and used this Burr Mill for about a year - a gift for myself last Christmas. Here are the dry facts, use them to draw your own conclusion. Personally, it's a great machine and I'd buy one again. 1) Stainless, sleek look. 2) Bean hopper is substantial, holds quite a lot. 3) cord has wrap-a-round base storage to keep excess out of sight. 4) quite a few rpms, definite noise while burring, most would consider loud, (they are all that way, tho) 5) has many settings for size (fine to course) and amount of grind. Settings are very easy to change. 6) bean hopper and grind box are both plastic, rather thin, and need to be cleaned regularly. Both must be emptied before cleaning. Hopper takes a dozen or so twists to get is completely removed, grind bin just slides out. 7) Every couple of weeks the chute that spills the grinds into the bin needs to be cleaned. I use a chopstick, move it around inside the chute, and hold the whole machine upside down as I shake it or hit it gently against my sink. This takes a few minutes, is a bit messy, just do it over the sink for easy clean up. 8) Machine does not leave fine grinds or spray while burring, but does leave particles around to clean up as you slide the bin in and out for usage. 9) Grind bin is plastic, generates static, grinds stick, can be a bit messy to pour into filter. I just hold it over the sink as I shake it into the filter, and flush the mess away with my faucet. 10) Grind bin is hard to see inside for amount of grinds, static causes too much to collect on plastic, preventing see-thu plastic as was probably intended. I just grind the max each time, use as much as I need, save the rest in the bin for the evening or the next day.
