Forget it. September 7, 2008 A. Nonny Mouse (Nashville) This espresso maker doesn't. That is, it doesn't make espresso. It just sits there while the water boils away; no coffee ever perks to the top. Try a functional, less stylish espresso maker if espresso is what you are looking for.
NICE! January 28, 2008 S. L. McClure 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
good product, much better than the aluminum--very strong coffee!! YUM!! I did not have any seal problems, and have been usin it very happily for over a month!
Awesome espresso maker December 15, 2007 Coffee Snob 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased a dealer demo of this at a local kitchen supply warehouse to replace my traditional aluminum "moka pot" The unit is built like a tank with a heavy gauge steel boiler that seems as substantial as the cast aluminum in other pots. All components are stainless steel including the filter basket. No shortcuts here! Parts go together easily and are easy to clean up afterwards. The espresso produced is excellent with no metallic aftertaste (the reason I replaced my old pot to begin with) I've used it to make americano coffee and lattes with almost coffee-house results. Highly recommended.
Great espresso maker, but where to get replacement parts? July 21, 2007 Philip Bogdonoff 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
My wife bought this after seeing one in use. It does as well as any stovetop espresso maker, and the stainless steel is a nice feature. The only problem is that the sealing ring (rubber?) appears to have shrunk somewhat so the pot leaks a bit as the espresso is made. While it is easy to find replacement rings for the more traditional 3 cup stovetop espresso makers, the outside diameter of the Primula sealing ring, while close in size, is about 1/4 inch larger than those and so the standard rings don't work as replacements. I have not been able to find a source for replacement rings for the Primula pot.
