4 out of 5 stars Great, sturdy food processor   January 20, 2008

I've had this about 6 months and it is great. It comes with almost everything you could need, although I bought the french fry and parmesan discs, too. It is pretty easy to clean, and looks nice.

There are a couple of small issues, though.
1. It does NOT use the same discs as the older Kitchenaid food processors. If you have any they are useless.
2. There are 4 small notches on the main bowl which get filled with gunk if you use powdery ingredients. I find that I need to use a toothpick to get them clean which is mildly annoying.
3. There is an area at the bottom of the feeder that is part of the safety lock. While you use the feed tube, little bits may get stuck in there. You ocassionally have to scrap this out or the pusher will no longer go all the way in.
4. It has a nice, wide feeder, but you still have to cut large potatoes in half because they are now too high. Using the large feeder allows you only about 3" in height because the safety switch cuts off there.

Other than these issues, it has worked extremely well. It is a heavy weight and seems very durable.

5 out of 5 stars Dream Machine   January 18, 2008

This is the first processor that I have owned and I am totally ecstatic with it. I love the mini bowl and blade for small jobs and I love that the attachments are all together in their own case. The machine is powerful and very attractive setting on my counter. I would recommend this processior to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Should last a lifetime   December 31, 2007

I just received this as a gift and I couldnt be happier with it. Like others reviewers mention, it is very heavy and thats a great thing! It is rock solid and all the parts fit together nicely. The chrome is gorgeous and wipes clean easily, especially the sealed buttons so there is no cracks for stuff to fall down into. I haven't needed it yet, but the small bowl/blade option that fits into the bigger one is a great design and will come in handy eventually. The plastic case that holds all the attachments is very nice to have and organize everything so they won't get lost over time. I do wish the top of the case snapped on but a large rubber band would probably be fine.

Honestly the only negative I can think of is yes, if you fill it to the top you will get some minor dripping down inside the blade shaft but its no big deal. Everything is sealed so it wipes clean very easily. I mostly use it for tomato sauce and I can fit two 28oz cans of whole tomatoes in it no problem. It does a beautiful job processing them.

I would have never bought this for myself so I'm so glad I got it as a gift. It's one of those items I know I will use for many many years.

I purchased this item and was told that shipping was $58. When it arrived I was chared $100+ for shipping by Ace Hardware. Beware!
