Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Good Grips Choppers take the work out of chopping your food. It comes with a Large Chopper for onions, vegetable and herbs - and a Mini Chopper for garlic. Press the soft knob and the blades rotate for even chopping. An internal soft bumper absorbs any shock to increase comfort and sound quality. Chop ingredients in the enclosed cup with its soft, non-slip base, or remove the base and chop directly on a cutting board. A tab rotates within the cup to prevent food from accumulating on the side walls. Both Choppers include a spoon for scooping so there's no need to leave your hands smelling like onions or garlic.

3 out of 5 stars *Perfect* homemade ham salad   December 29, 2007

Bought it for my wife and she agrees it is worthless on scallions. I can imagine that any skin/outer layers left on white/yellow onions will also cause problems. However, we found a use for it with our leftover Christmas ham that makes it a keeper. It makes perfect small diced ham salad that was much improved over food processor prepared. The chop size and resulting texture were outstanding.

4 out of 5 stars Great garlic chopper   December 24, 2007

This is the chopper you want for garlic, it chops much finer that a full size chopper. I use it with the pealed garlic that Costco sells in 3lb containers. You can chop a handful of garlic in seconds.

The one downside is that it's not terribly durable. My first chopper lasted for a couple of years before it broke which isn't bad for a $10 item but it could better built.

1 out of 5 stars Blade is very dull   June 4, 2007
Jenna larchitect (Clarksville, MD)
I purchased this item because I've always been impressed with OXO products in the past, and I like that this chopper is dishwasher safe, while many aren't. I got it home, cleaned and assembled it (an easy task), and set about trying to chop. I've tried onions, nuts, basil, none of them worked. About the only thing I can get it to chop is garlic, and I already have a garlic press for that! This product is an unbelievable waste of money. I'm off to look for another brand...

Cup way too small and holds too little. difficult to use if you put too much in, which isnt much. I was dissappointed.

4 out of 5 stars choppppper   May 9, 2007

Yeah I read the reviews of other choppers and everyone says the same thing. They are hard to clean and they turn things into mush, bla bla bla. It is true for stuff that has a lot of moisture but garlic works and so does cilantro and other things. Its tomatoes that are hard to dice up with a smashing blade.
I like it cause I do not plug it in and it does not take up much room. There was a chopper that is hand cranked and that was really good but I think it is only a christmas item.
