Kitchenaid Blender July 11, 2008 Cynthia Robutka (WEATHERFORD, TEXAS United States) This blender is fantastic in every way. I love the plastic container and the lid stays on nice and tight. You can add ingredients to the top through the lid and the cap also can be iced to measure. Great speed settings and pretty quiet. I like that it is programmed to sort of pulse while using the ice crush feature. The ice comes out great with no large uncrushed pieces which is great for all drink needs and snow cones too. Washes out good in the dishwasher with no blade parts to worry about because they are built into the plastic container. This was well worth the money and I expect years of use from this quality product.
Leaks July 9, 2008 Paul Tinsley (Colorado Springs, USA) This blender leaks at the base and also from the lid. The plastic jug is incredibly hard to clean as it scratches over time and collects particles. We have had to return ours to the store (not Amazon). Had they made this with a glass jar and better seals, it would rate 5 stars.
Ruined it in less than a week July 6, 2008 Gv Florida (Florida) We decided to start making smoothies with frozen fruit, and the old blender wasn't working well, so we replaced it with this model. It's definitely more powerful, blending the frozen fruit effortlessly. But the design is horrible. I made a mistake and started it without having the pitcher properly seated on the base. In about two seconds, it had totally stripped the locking teeth and now no longer works at all. While it was my fault for not making sure that it was locked in place before starting it, I wouldn't have expected a $100 blender to become a worthless piece of junk from such a common, easily made mistake.
Fine product July 3, 2008 Stephen Sabo (usa) Biggest issue I have had with blenders in the past is frozen drinks. I like them very icy and most blenders are unable to keep blending because the ice is too solid. I thought the shape of this blender's container and the position of the blades would make it work better. And it does slightly better job, but my opinion is no traditional blender can do a great job on icy drinks. Overall the blender is a quality product and good design, cleanup is easy. However, they don't recommend throwing it in the dishwasher every time, so only time will tell if it holds up for me.
Nice choice. July 2, 2008 Bob Brandt (LA in southeastern USA) In the few weeks since we got this blender we have used it at least every other day. It stays on the counter near the matching-color KitchenAid mixer and looks great. The performance is great; malts, smoothies, veggie drinks, margueritas, and cooking/pureeing jobs are no problem to use and clean-up. The 12 mo. warranty is impressive as well. I recommend this mid-priced appliance for looks function and price.
