Best Toaster Ever October 9, 2008 C. Whitby This is a fantastic toaster, while I would not normally review an appliance we have been so happy with this ,it warrants comment.I start my day every day with this and expect it to last a lifetime. It is heavy duty all steel and heavy bake-lite type knobs, and it perfectly toasts bread or bagels. As well it keeps the toast warm by not popping up, does not transmit heat to the outside of the unit. We love this toaster. The prior review surely must be a joke, stating the bread "leans over in the 1" slot", or that "it is imppossible to only toast 1 side of a piece of bread" ...huh? Ignore that this is better then the dualit and many other higher priced units.
Great performance looking for years of use September 14, 2008 Stephanie Manley (Eau Claire, MI) I purchased my toaster and I really like the fact that it is so heavy duty, and doesn't over-heat when you need to toast multiple slices of toast. This is an extremly heavy toaster that does not seem flimsy. It is extremely stylish, and the smart design makes it easy to clean. I have found that this toaster prepares evenly toasted bread each and every time.
Try another toaster June 29, 2008 C Merc (Arizona) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought the 4 slice version of this toaster, and quickly discovered it to be a waste of money. Not because it broke or anything of that nature. It sucks because of the details, and when you decide to spend this much on a toaster, it seems to reason, you're interested in the details. I have two primary issues with this machine: 1) Its not possible to turn off just one side. I generally prefer not to toast both sides of a sliced bagel or English muffin. 2) The 1" slots. This might initially seem like a good idea; it is one of the features that initially drew me in. But a crucial flaw lies with the implementation of these wide slots. There is not a self-adjusting, centering carrier for the bread; not a carrier of any kind. It's just a big void. So if you insert a normal slice of bread it has to lean to one side or the other resulting in, of course, uneven toasting; absolutely unforgiveable in a toaster of this expense.
