5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   March 9, 2010

My daughter had received a similar model for a wedding present. It was such a great machine I had to get one myself as my food processor was antique. The three sizes of bowls and tons of attachments make fixing anything a breeze. Easy to clean as well. Plus, the price at Amazon was well below that in any other retailer and with a $20 rebate it was even cheaper!

This is a solid, well-built, powerful,thoughtfully-designed tool. It does what you expect it to do and goes about it quickly and quietly.

5 out of 5 stars Solid product!   March 5, 2010

I bought this model only because I wanted to purchase additional blades for my 7cup, and found that they don't make them for that model. After only having the 7cup for 6 months or so, I was very disapointed to find I couldn't get the additional blades. I have a 19 year old daughter who just moved out on her own, I gave her the 7cup model and purchased this one. I couldn't be happier with it so far. It comes with a 4mm slicing blade (which is one that I really wanted) and I purchased a 5 pack of other blades as well. It is very easy to assemble and use, then change the assembly configuration for something else and keep going. I've read that some people feel the smaller work bowls are a hassle and often the food gets in the larger bowl making it so you have to clean it also: My experience has been that some food particles or liquid may creep over into the larger work bowl, but a quick rinse is all it takes to clean that depending on the food being processed. I would imagine oil based might not rinse so well, but I've done vegetables like potatoes and a rinse of the larger bowl is all that was needed. Also, the wide mouth and plunger has not given me any trouble. I'm able to get a small to medium size potato in sideways and slice it without having to pre-cut to fit so that the food pusher can engage. If trying to put in a very large item, you would have to trim it down before it would work, but I've not had anything big enough to require it yet.

Overall, extremely pleased with my purchase and I expect this to be a well used tool in my kitchen for years to come!

1 out of 5 stars Buyer be ware! Bowl shaft sticks!   February 25, 2010

The 760 model is flat defective and KitchenAid is unwilling to stand by their product. I bought this food processor 5 years ago and it has set, unable to be used, 3 of those years. When shredding cheese the disc shaft will create a suction to the base shaft and stick the bowl to the unit. It took 2 YEARS for it to loosen enough to use a hammer and pliers to remove the bowl (which had to be broken). Please Google this problem and you will see this is common (particularly look at the KitchenAid forums!). Today was my 3rd phone call to KitchenAid to try and find out what part(s) I need to replace to keep the bowl from sticking (AGAIN- and $75 worth of replacement parts because of this problem is what I'd need!) and yet again they can do nothing but offer me a very expensive service call to figure it out or give me a gift certificate towards the purchase of a new item (admittance this is THEIR fault not user error!). The first time I called KA the rep said it is their fault but since my model was (2 months) out of warranty just to send it in would be $60 + shipping both ways. Then the 2nd time the rep said it's a very common problem but shredding cheese is the cause and they don't recommend shredding cheese that is moist or putting ANY pressure on the unit to press down cheese so it's user error- uh yeah, a food processor that can't shread cheddar- what's the point? Today the answer I got was that they can't even tell me what parts to replace for legal reasons?!? It would be considered trouble shooting. I own a ton of other KA products and haven't had near this disappointment. Instead of forking it out for a guess of what all I need to fix and a tune of $75+ shipping for parts I'm going to cut my losses here and go for the Cuisinart. I don't own a single Cuisinart product because am a die hard KA lover but I've had it!

5 out of 5 stars Love my Kitchenaid Food Processor   February 20, 2010
Helaine Hoerning (Redding, CA)
I love my Kitchenaid Processor. It shreds cheddar cheese fast and easy. It works best if the cheese is cold, but even if it isn't it still works. There are a few large pieces left if it isn't cold, but I don't care because it is so fast and easy. I used to shred a two pound block of cheese by hand on a steel grater and it is a pain. When I am done, I wash everything right away and put it away - done.
