Coolest looking blender you'll find - and it works like a champ! July 12, 2008 David F. Nolan (Tucson, AZ United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
OK, I admit it. I bought this blender because it is SOOO cool looking, and it was on sale for $34.95 at Target. It works just fine, and the sealed 5-speed control panel that displays the speed setting with cool blue lights is 1000% better than the clunky multiple-button system used on most blenders. I'm a little concerned how long the "bubble" type switches will last, but hopefully they will be OK; the same type of switches are used in computer keyboards, and they work for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Two caveats. First, despite what the specs here say, this blender does not have an 800 watt motor. It's rated at 4.0 amperes, which is about 480 watts. It's not underpowered, by any means, but it's not an 800 watt machine. And second, it's a bit on the noisy side. But it blends like a champ, and the "wave action" pattern does seem to be effective at keeping the contents moving around to prevent "dead spots" in the stuff you're blending.
Great blender and a cool night light. March 27, 2008 Jerry Estes (Texas, USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This blender does everything we wanted a blender for, from making fruit, yogurt and Kefir smoothies to chopping and liquefying vegetables for drinking. The controls are much better than push buttons. The wave action is excellent for making sure that everything is blended smoothly and leaving no chunks. Blends in much less time than other blenders that we have had, and most of them have been Hamilton Beach. A very pleasant extra is the soft blue light on the bottom of the blender. It provides us with an effective night light in the kitchen, for those nights that we need to get up and stumble out into the kitchen.
