Amazon.com Review
Excellent for eggplant parmigiana as well as tomatoes for pizza, salads, and burgers, this useful, precisely engineered accessory disc cuts uniform 1/4-inch-thick slices. Cuisinart's unique design stiffens the disc and allows the slicing blade to extend all the way to the outer rim to produces consistent slices without cracks, bruising, or broken skin--even with tomatoes. Use it for avocados, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, and other fruits for salads and deserts. Made of stainless steel, it's dishwasher-safe and comes with a limited three-year warranty. --Victoria Jenkins

5 out of 5 stars Just Rightttt   June 5, 2008

Not too skinny and not too big. This slices zuchinni, onions, and other squash to the perfect size for simmering with red bell pepper strips and then topping with grated italian cheeses. It is incredibly sharp, works perfectly. I wish it had come with the Cuisinart, which has lasted 24 years!! It has given me a whole new reason to use it. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for salads   October 18, 2007

Nice blade for thick slices. The 4 mm liquified the salad. The 6 mm makes a salad that stays fresh.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Apple Pies!   January 14, 2007

I use my think slicing disc to slice apples for pie, and I am very happy with it. It makes near perfect slices (depends more on the apple how they come out) and they are all the perfect thickness.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great on my 11-cup DLC 8   July 5, 2006

My Cuisinart processor came with a 4mm slicing disc. I aim to collect all of the DLC 8 discs/blades. This 6 mm blade works great, but I noticed it really isn't much bigger than the 4 mm. It makes a great backup blade in case the other one is dirty. Love this stuff. Great price too at $19.95.

1 out of 5 stars Can't use with DLC5 unless ordering adt'l part   January 26, 2006

Amazon recommended this accessory when I bought the DLC5. After receiving it I found that the spindles are permanently attached to the shredder and slicer blades that came with the unit. (I'm not sure how you store those very efficiently!) Now I have the adt'l slicer blade with no spindle. I have to do some research to find a spindle see if it will fit the DLC5 food processor. I'm in limbo!
