Makes my list of MAGGIE'S FAVORITE THINGS September 29, 2008 Marygaston H. Adams (Atlanta, GA) I've always wanted to create a list of my favorite things, just like Oprah. If so, these bowls would be on it. Each year, I try to find something great (yet inexpensive) that I love to send my friends. This is what I'm sending this year!
I'd buy it again August 27, 2008 aj wiles (Detroit, MI USA) Product is perfect when you're busy at work and want to grab a serving of nuts out of a larger bag or container, or if you want to measure out the right amount of yogurt quickly and get back to work. They are nice enough looking that you can use them as bowls and eat right out of them, as I do with my yogurt, nut and peanut butter snacks.
Disappointing July 31, 2008 H. F. Corbin (ATLANTA, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These nesting measuring bowls-- if that's the term-- are rather attractive if you like the color orange. Each bowl can be used for two measurements as follows: 2 cups/1 cup; 1 1/2 cup; 3/4 cup; 1 cup; 1/2 cup; 1/2 cup; 1/4 cup; 1/4 cup; 1/8 cup. For example, you can measure both 1 Cup and 1/2 cup from the same bowl. There is a line that indicates where 1/2 begins. But why would you need to measure 1/2 cup out of the bigger 1 cup bowl when you have a bowl with a bigger measurement of 1/2 cup? One of the problems is that the numbers are divisible by 2 only. How do you get 1/3 of a cup measured? Additionally how on earth do you level the smaller measurement within the larger one? Try measuring 1/8 of a cup, for example, and see if you can level off whatever you are measuing. I obviously knew there were no handles on these bowls\ when I ordered them, but I like to put the measuring cup into the flour or sugar container and then level with a knife or spatula, something that is rather difficult to do with these. These bowls will probably stay nested on my kitchen shelf.
works good, could be improved July 22, 2008 Jason Watkins (Portland, OR) Works great. However, I'd like it if the cups were a little bigger than the intended size and then had a second line inscribed. This would make them quite a bit easier for prep-ing liquids that will sit for a bit until they go in the pot.
Great All-Purpose Measuring Cups June 24, 2008 Paul Osterhout (Coral Springs, FL) These are great all-purpose measuring cups. Often in cooking (especially baking), you have a recipe that calls for three ingredients to be added at a given step in the process. For example, a cup of milk with a teaspoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of honey. This is an example where these measuring cups excel. You use the 2 cup bowl which has a line inside for the 1 cup mark. Fill the milk to the one cup line, then add the vanilla and honey. You only use one item (less cleaning). Also good when activating yeast for breadmaking.
