Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This stand mixer features a powerful 800-watt motor that can handle the heaviest mixing tasks. Its large, 5-1/2-quart, stainless-steel bowl accommodates big batches--even double recipes. The unit also provides 12 mixing speeds, along with a 15-minute countdown timer and automatic shutoff, for maximum precision. Choose the slow-start function to eliminate splatter or the ultra-gentle fold function to carefully blend in delicate ingredients. The mixer's tilt-back head allows for easy access to the mixing bowl and makes attaching accessories simple. Accessories include a chef's whisk, a flat mixing paddle, and a dough hook, as well as a splashguard. The whisk aerates ingredients to increase volume or can also be used on slow speed to gently combine dry ingredients. Contoured to reach the bottom and sides of the bowl, the flat mixing paddle ensures thorough mixing. The dough hook makes hand kneading obsolete, while the splashguard offers an extra-wide pouring spout for easily adding ingredients. The stand mixer also contains three power outlets, including a high-speed outlet for its optional dedicated attachments (meat grinder, citrus juicer, blender, food processor, or pasta maker--all sold separately). The stand mixer measures 15-1/2 by 10 by 12-1/2 inches and carries a three-year product warranty and a five-year motor warranty

After reading for days the reviews on Kitchenaid stand mixers and comparing product prices and reviews I decided to go with the Cuisinart 5.5 qt. stand mixer. I have no regrets. I am in love with this mixer. I find myself cooking and baking more. It kneads like a dream, whips in no time, easy to operate and clean it. It is a very good looking addition also to my kitchen.

Its loud, but otherwise a great machine. Love all the attachments. We are using the heck out of it.

This is my first stand mixer. I've used it a dozen times since I purchased it last week. I first purchased the Kitchen Aid Pro 600 mixer with 575 watts- heavy and a bit bulky, shifting between different speeds was kind of stiff, and I didn't like the bowl lift design. I exchanged it the next day for the Cuisinart 5.5 Quart Stand Mixer which was much more modern looking and had a sleek style- much smaller, shifted between speeds very smoothly, and had a tilt head design which makes it easier if you need to scrape down the inside of the bowl and I think they are easier to change over from the whisk to the paddle or dough hook. Initially, I was concerned because of it's lighter weight that it might wobble off the counter top while mixing and kneading heavy bread doughs but I've had no problems so far. I love the digital timer and fold function-- this really sold me on it. This mixer looks great and works great!

We liked our old Kenmore model with a 575 watt motor. Though sometimes it bogged down.
This Cuisine model greatly outperforms the kenmore. The easy of use is similar. I recommend it to anyone needing a stand mixer. Does very good on heavy doughs as well. To Cuisine-- why haven't you made a opposite hand unit. This is a very good model, it should be available in both, L.H. and R.H. models.

This can be a very versatile piece of equipment with the various outlets on it for blender, food processor, pasta maker or meat grinder.

As a stand alone mixer, I have found it easy to operate and easy to keep clean. As a replacement for an old Hobart Professional which I cannot replace, it is highly successful.

I would recommend it for anyone who needs a mixer with a little bit more power than the average less expensive, less powerful machine. Furthermore, as part of my kitchen, the design is very atteractive.
