Amazon.com Review
Creating up to 1-1/2 quarts of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only about 20 minutes with this electric appliance, and salt and ice are not needed. After the machine's chilling chamber has been in the freezer for about eight hours the liquid between its walls is thoroughly frozen. The chamber then goes atop the power base, the unit's paddle goes into the chamber, the transparent top is locked in place, and the machine is turned on. Ingredients go into the chamber through an opening in the top as the paddle turns. The chamber chills the ingredients to whatever consistency is desired--though dense treats are hard to make because the paddle churns in air.

Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients can be added toward the end. The chamber is nonstick for easy cleanup. Storing it in the freezer ensures a frozen confection is only 20 to 40 minutes away when the mood strikes. The machine measures 10 inches in diameter and 15 inches high and weighs 9-1/2 pounds. It carries a 90-day warranty. A detailed instruction booklet including many recipes is included. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars It Works!   September 10, 2008
Betty P. Thomas (Pittsburgh, PA USA)
I was pleasantly surprised to find this really works as advertised. We've made ice cream and frozen yoghurt in it, and it's been super-fast, easy, and delicious. Clean-up is also very simple. I would recommend this to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars Factory refurbished but good as new.   September 4, 2008
Ice cream afficionado (Larchmont, NY United States)
The beauty of this prodcut is its simple design, and it's easy to clean. Follow the recipes in the instruction manual and you can't go wrong. Very happy with product and price.

It works very well and easy cleanup. I've only made vanilla ice cream so far, but it was very delicious. I will definitely experiment with other recipes soon. S

2 out of 5 stars Only worked for a short time!   August 7, 2008

I bought this new, and it worked great, UNTIL I made the mistake of taking the freezing bowl out of the freezer, to thaw out, and stored it for 1 week. When I refroze it a week later, it never made ice cream again, no matter how cold the freezer was or how long I kept it in there. I suspect that once you freeze it and keep it in the freezer, you MUST keep it in there from then on and NEVER thaw it out. I returned mine, but I will never buy this type of ice cream maker again for fear that it won't work.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use, makes crazy delicious icecream   July 30, 2008

Very easy to use and clean up. I've only made icecream so far and it is way better than store bought. Also, the capacity is perfect size to let me try out a lot of different recipies without filling the freezer or having to eat so much icecream that i need to buy bigger pants. I haven't tried sorbets or margaritas in it yet, but will soon. Big advantage over the traditional icecream freezers that require lots of ice and salt.
