Product Description Makes snow cones, smoothies and slushies. Use ice molds or ice cubes. Includes 2 ice molds and recipes.
Amazon.com Review On hot summer days nothing beats a scoop of snow--to eat! This delightful Snowman churns out bowlfuls of shaved ice in just seconds. Kids can slurp flavored sno-cones for a birthday party and adults can sip frozen daiquiris for evenings on the deck. Two 4-inch round plastic molds with lids are included for freezing water, syrup-flavored water, or fruit juices. Simply place the frozen round (regular ice cubes will work, too, but not as well) in the blade unit, cover with the motorized top, and press down on the palm-size operating button. A bowl placed underneath (not included) catches the instant snow. For safety the sharp blade is completely internal and not accessible to fingers when the Snowman is operating. The machine measures 13 inches high when assembled, with an 8-inch-square base. A one-year warranty covers the Snowman against defects. --Ann Bieri

Suck March 13, 2010 Happy Citizen (Las Vegas, NV USA) I bought this machine and the other machine (Hamilton Beach 68050 Icy Treats Ice Shaver) at the same time. This machine sucked badly. This machine was messy and slow. I made snow cone for 12 people with 68050 machine in 5 minutes. This machine took 5 minutes for 1 person. It really suck when compared with the other machine. 68050 shaver is $10 more expensive, but it worked better and faster and easy to clean.
Unreasonable shipping charge for extra ice molds! February 22, 2010 Wiley (Oregon, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Though the machine works remarkably well as an ice shaver, there is a dark side to Hamilton Beach (HB). If you want an extra pair of ice molds, they're just $2.50. However, the non-negotiable shipping charge, get this, is $7.99. Any part or supply you need to buy from HB, requires a shipping charge that is based on the dollar amount of the item...not on weight, physical size or real shipping cost by a carrier. In this case, the charge for anything purchased between $0 and $9.99 is a flat $7.99. In my mind this predatory merchandising practice devalues Hamilton Beach products to the point that I am encouraged to shop for an alternative brand/manufacturer. Shipping and handling is viewed by HB as a lucrative hidden bonus that they benefit from...and you, the consumer, must suffer. Does anyone know where a spare set of ice cups can be purchased...other than through Hamilton Beach?
Good shaved ice! February 10, 2010 MomofTwo (Florida) I have had my Snowman Ice Shaver for a month and really like it! Yummy shaved ice!! I use it 3-4 times a week. I have only used the ice made in the included plastic containers. (I haven't tried cubed ice.) This is a very decent ice shaver for the price.
Great Product! February 3, 2010 Laura Sigmund (MORGANVILLE, NJ, US) This is exactly what i was looking for at the right price.
The product is quality and works really well. My kids love it and it so user friendly.
I use it everyday in the winter - this will be a big hit in the summer months for snow cones and slushies.
Personaly I just like crushed ice plain. It's mor of a shaver texture which is very palatable.
I would highly recommend this product. turns out my girlfriend has the same one.
Great ice shaver January 9, 2010 Rachel E. Evans (Dillsburg, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned this machine for about a year, and I use it 2-4 times a day. It has held up just fine for going through that kind of usage. The molds are starting to crack a little, but I do bang them down every time to get the ice out. I bought this on a whim and ended up loving it so much that I am looking on here for another one. Shaves ice beautifully, nice and fine. Easy to use, just put a little pressure on the top. I definitely recommend this.
