Poor quality machine March 1, 2010 Rdouglas Damery I purchased this machine and made great yogurt for about a year. Then, the outer wells stopped producing yogurt and instead gave me warm milk. Finally, the inner four wells stopped working. I checked several times in the middle of a heating cycle and all of the wells are stone cold.
It started off great, but at $45-60, this machine should last longer than a year. I'll be looking for another brand.
Yogurt maker works like it is advertised. February 27, 2010 Carol A. Colburn (Versailles, MO) This yogurt maker works very well and the yogurt tastes delicious. You do have to add a little dry milk if you use skim milk for the yogurt, but that doesn't take long. I forgot the dry milk one time and the yogurt was watery. I don't have other yogurt makers to compare it to, but it seems easy to use. You add the dry milk powder to the skim milk, heat it on the stove and then wait for it to cool down. They provide a thermometer to put in the milk so it is easy to tell when it gets to the correct temperature. Then you add your starter, or yogurt, and mix it and distribute it evenly in the plastic containers, put it on the cooker and set the timer and it about 10 hours it is ready to eat.
Great, But Get A Digital Thermometer With An Alarm Feature January 9, 2010 Glenn Again (SW, Fl USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit comes with a glass thermometer but if you don't want to hang around the stove waiting to get to the proper tempertures, get a digital thermometer. I bought one called an Acurite digital thermometer and it is great. I set the temp I want it to get to, put it in the pot on the stove held inside by a clothes pin, it beeps when it is there. Easy
Easy to use, easy to clean January 5, 2010 Kelly Chow (Seattle, WA) Making yogurt in this machine is a snap! Heat up the milk, add the culture and let the machine do its magic overnight.
We make it every few days and have never bought any yogurt since our purchase 4 months ago! The machine is easy to use and the cups are dishwasher safe. The only thing I would change in the design is make the cup lids a bit easier to put on/take off. Otherwise, I love it!
Don't care for the yogurt! December 22, 2009 Debra M. Holmes (Ohio) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm sure that this yogurt maker is a GREAT product which is why I've given it 5 stars. However, personally I don't care for the yogurt it produces. I purchase and usually only eat an organic Greek yogurt that is readily available in higher end markets near me. In comparison to the store-bought organic Greek yogurt I buy, this doesn't come close to the flavor or creaminess. I know that I pay a small fortune for the store bought yogurt, but to me it's worth every penny rather than to choke something bitter and sour down for the health benefits. The health and digestive benefits are the same with the commercial organic (no preservatives, coloring or flavorings)just much more palatable and enjoyable!!!! Sorry Donvier, but this isn't for me. If I'm going to eat something (I have a 100% CLEAN diet)I would prefer to enjoy it!!!
