Product Description 2 in 1 Sandwich Press Café-styled toasted snacks in minutes. Featuring the Adjustable Toast Height Control for cooking open style melts
Amazon.com Review Some sandwiches are just better toasted, and the Breville 2-in-1 panini press allows that all sandwiches might be. With its flat cooking plates and adjustable depth, the press does everything from reheating grilled cheese to creating café-quality focaccia sandwiches. A floating top plate and six depth settings let you tailor use to your preference, recipe, or ingredients, and create consistent results whether sandwiches are wafer-thin or packed full. A 1500-watt appliance, the press has a sturdy structure with high-powered wiring concealed in the heavy metal arms to keep operation safe. Warm up and ready lights make the cooking process more efficient, and the Quasar Rockcote nonstick plates wipe down well while letting you cook with little or no fat. Helpful details range from the hidden cord wrap to the non-skid feet, and the whole unit can be stored flat or on its side in tighter spaces. As with other Breville devices, the power cord has an unusual and helpful plug design with an easy-grab fingerhole. Sized for two full-scale sandwiches at a time, the press is suitable for sliced or bakery bread and comes in handy from breakfast on through to late-night snacking. It also looks good on your countertop in a matte black and gleaming chrome finish. --Emily Bedard

Note! This grill does not have a ribbed surface! October 23, 2004 K. Vandorn (Stillwater, OK USA) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I was totally excited about purchasing this grill for my husband for Christmas. He has wanted one for a long time. After reading the reviews and product description, I knew this was the best at this price. However, I totally overlooked the fact that the grill surface is flat. The picture on this page shows the closed grill, and I just missed that detail in the description. As soon as I opened it from the Amazon box, I knew this would not work. I had to return it for the Hamilton-Beach version that has ribbed plates...a feature that my husband specifically asked for.
LOVE THE PRODUCT, HATE THE PACKAGING August 13, 2004 Ciao (Cicero, IL. USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I must say, even though I expected it I was quit disappointed in the packaging. I just received this item a couple of days ago. It looked like they took the box off the shelf and threw it in the mail. No shipping packaging what-so-ever. As far as the product is concerned, it arrived without damage. I must say I love this item. I am big lover of sandwiches and this machine makes the best panini. I have a feeling that this may become my number one appliance.
Good packaging June 9, 2004 2 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was uneasy ordering this item from Amazon because of problems people had had with Amazon's packaging, but mine arrived in perfect shape, the Breville box securely inside an Amazon box. Haven't used the press itself but I just wanted to say that they're doing a better job now, with their packaging. No problems.
Beware March 6, 2004 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Mine appears to have an internal electric ground fault. As I tried to plug in my brand new Breville panini maker, enough sparks flew to burn the end of the electric plug. I won't get a chance to find out how well this product does its job. It is going back.
Great sandwich press; no shipping problems February 23, 2004 Stephen Weissmann (Lakes Region of New Hampshire) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I placed my order for this with some trepidation after reading a number of posts about shipping problems, and I was not familiar with the brand. It arrived securely packaged in the manufacturer's box which was snugly packed again in Amazon cardboard. So no problems there. It is a great sandwich press. I love the hinged top plate and the settings that allow you to heat food without touching the top surface (like reheating pizza and melts). I like the way it stores standing up so it takes up almost no counter space. I expect to use this a lot. I still don't know the brand, but it is made in China like everything else today, so I guess it doesn't make any difference.
