Amazon.com Review Create delicious, deli-like panini at home with this gourmet sandwich press from Hamilton Beach. Designed to accommodate everything from single-slice ham sandwiches to piled-high turkey grinders, the grill heats ingredients, melts cheese, and creates a crispy outer crust. The floating lid slides and swivels for the right fit and locks into position with a side dial. The locking function is also handy for keeping the lid upright if you want to make open face snacks or clean the grill plates. Roomy and ribbed, the grill plates measure 12 by 8-1/2 and are coated with a wipe-down nonstick coating. Stable on its four feet, the press has gleaming chrome housing and durable plastic accents. A side clamp locks it shut between uses, so you can choose from upright or horizontal storagea thoughtful feature for the space-efficient kitchen. Two indicator lights signal power and preheating, and the whole unit measures 13-1/2 by 11-1/2 by 4. Hamilton Beach includes a two-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Great!!! and a Great price. October 2, 2008 C. Fowler (Key West, FL.) A friend made sandwiches with hers, and they were GREAT..So I went to look for one, and you cannot believe the price on them..also it has a knob at the side that you can make it as flat as you want. I have the George Forman interchangable grill that is great for everything else, but it can't make a Panini like the Hamilton Beach 25450. Absolutly love it..
Disappointing. August 20, 2008 Gentle Mama (Albuquerque, NM United States) The press did make delicious sandwiches. Until the spring broke and the nonstick liner started coming off on the sandwiches. We only had it about 2 months before we had to throw it away. Very disappointing.
Excellent product at a great price! August 3, 2008 M. Myers (Texas) I purchased the Hamilton Beach panini maker after my friend prepared a sandwich for me on her's. She's had her HB panini maker since Christmas and her family has thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, they have a once-a-week panini night, where everyone makes his own sandwich and they take turns using the grill. I have had mine for about a month. It is only designed for sandwiches, so it's not a multi-purpose grill. The grids do not remove, but are easy to wipe down with a soapy sponge. Nothing sticks, including cheese. My neighbor prepared me for the fact that some meats, veggies, etc. (not cheese) are best pre-warmed in the microwave for a minute or less prior to being placed between the bread, as thick sandwiches may not get hot in the center, even though the bread is grilled to perfection. I find that a very, very thin coating of butter on the outside of the bread makes for the best grilled sandwich. We have used our panini grill a couple times a week since acquisition, with great results. I will caution folks to only use a tiny amount of soap on your sponge when you wipe down the grill, as it can be difficult to remove the soap from the grid valleys. My friend says she just removes the food particles and lets the grill's heat do the sterilization the next time she uses it.... The HB panini grill folds compactly and clamps closed so it can be stored vertically. It can hold two sandwiches at once, and I let it recover its heat for about a minute in between batches. It's attractive, simple, and very inexpensive. I have tried making paninis on my multi-purpose (George Foreman) grill, but they just don't come out right; plus the grids aren't close enough together to get that nice crunchy bread that you get from a dedicated panini grill. I highly recommend this grill, without reservation.
Excellent Product June 27, 2008 Asem Rustum I have been using this for the past two week, and it's an excellent piece of work! I would have preferred if the plates could be removed, but it's still very easy to clean.
Better Than I Thought... June 27, 2008 Jaline (Ashburnham, MA) I thought my husband was crazy when he asked if I had ever though about getting a panini machine. I figured we'd use it once and that would be the end of it. However, I've found that since it so easy and stores so nicely, we use it a lot more often that I thought. It's easy to use and easy to clean...just wipe it with a damp cloth once you're done using it. I'm sure some of the more expensive versions with removable grill plates would have been nice, but I opted for a less expensive machine based on the thought that it was going to end up eternally on a shelf collecting dust. If you're looking for a panini press that is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store and fits in your budget...this is the one.
