Amazon.com Review Americans are just beginning to catch on to what Europeans have known for ages: Electric kettles boil water faster than stove-top kettles. This compact tea kettle holds a quart of water and boils it even faster than a microwave, with the added advantage of a built-in whistle to let you know when the water is ready. The more water in the kettle, the louder the whistle. A stainless-steel lid on the no-drip spout flips up for easy filling and pouring, and keeps steam away from hands. Two additional safety features: a maximum fill line on the spout prevents boil-overs, and a thermostat automatically turns off the heating element in case the kettle boils dry or gets plugged in while empty. The exterior of the kettle is stay-cool plastic, and the interior base is anodized to resist mineral build-up. Compact and lightweight with a 2-foot cord, the kettle measures 7 by 6-1/2 inches and comes with a one-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

more or less junk October 2, 2008 Nat Zorach (Lancaster, PA) I feel like a company that doesn't put an on/off switch on an electric appliance with heating elements might have some issues. It's also not the most ergonomic configuration-- it's very easy to spill water when it's full, and the only place you can fill it is through the spout... hm. I guess it makes tea, though. Probably not worth what I paid for it.
Great Item September 29, 2008 R. Carol Swanson (Sacramento, CA) This is the second one I have had. The first one was getting kind of dingy looking (taking it to work break room), still works great. I bought 2 since my daughter (who also loves it) was getting married and moving out and she needed one. They are so handy for heating water for recipes, tea, hot cocoa, soups, etc. WE LOVE IT!
Presto Kettle September 2, 2008 Judith Salsbury I ordered this to replace a whistling West Bend electric kettle. (you can't find the ones that whistle in the U.) It does it's job but the capacity is less than the West Bend, it's slower to heat and the whistle is weak. For the price I would go with the West Bend.
Works fine July 22, 2008 Jean B. Carson (GA) Works just fine. Only request would be for an on/off switch so you don't always have to unplug it. Otherwise, great for the price.
Great little whistling electric tea kettle April 6, 2008 Wendy (Woodland Hills, CA USA) My old Hot Pot finally died and so I bought this one a couple of months ago. I love the fact that it whistles when the water is boiling because sometimes it's easy to forget. It doesn't take long and your water is hot. It's the perfect size and works very well. I highly recommend this electric tea kettle.
