Not perfect August 19, 2008 R. Chiu (Renton, WA United States) I bought mine quite more than 3 yrs ago at a much lower price from Amazon. It boils a full pot pretty fast and the quality is good. However, it seems to not create enough pressure to force a good amount of the water out when you press the pump; you sort of have to quickly pump a few times to build up the pressure. This could be related to the fact the lid isn't perfectly tight, so some of the pressure may just escape when you press the pump. I'm not sure if it's just a design flaw or quality control issue.
Fabulous Hot water ALWAYS August 23, 2007 Edwin A. Owen (Sun City West, AZ USA) Superb hot water pot. Have had it for many years and this is a replacement. Wouldn't be without it. N in Phoenix, AZ
Useless product March 14, 2006 Yen L. Phillips 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
We chose this product based on the online descriptions of:the small size, the picture of the beautiful floral design, and the simple operation methods. It would've been perfect for my mother to use at the nursing home. However, after about a week or so of use, problems started to emerge to the point of being unsafe, and rendering the pot useless. Two problems: a)Twice during "Boil" the hot water started to shoot out with splattering from the spout in front and the vents on the back of the lid. Hot water was every where. Because the heated water came out so fast which was compound with the burning steam, we had to wait until the activity stopped before mopping up. It continued for several minutes. With the electric plug nearby, it was extremely unsafe and unnerving. The first time that it happened at the nursing home, the nurses became highly alarmed. They removed the pot from mother's room and reported the incident to us. We brought the pot home and tried it. The same behavior occurred again. This time we were prepared. We placed a 16 ounce-mug under the spout. The mug filled up. We estimated that approximately half of the pot content was lost through the spout and the vents. b) During "normal" operations, the "Boil" mode is unnecessarily long. By the time it shuts off, we estimate about 6-8 onces of water is boiled away. Further, if the pot is not full, during "Reboil", the pot has a risk of drying out and creates additional safty concerns (we didn't try this out). Please check it out, lest other customers suffer similar bad experiences. Sincerely, Yen L. Phillips
defected product March 2, 2006 X. Yao 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
The boiler worked ok at the beginning. But after a week, it stopped switching to keep warm after water was boiled, water kept just boiling unless I unplugged outlet. Amazon sent me a replacement, this time it is even worse. The boiler has the same defect from the first time I used it. I think something wrong with this model.
The boiler is easy-to-use and quite reliable October 9, 2005 C. Hou (Champaign, IL USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
We have already had a similar boiler (of the same brand) at home for several years. It is very easy-to-use, quite reliable, and very well-suited for a household whose members love tea and instant coffee. Due to this reason, we decide to buy a second one (whose price is very reasonable at Amazon.com). The only thing you need to pay attention is that you need to remember to fill the boiler with water when the water is about to run out.
