| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The hollow handle on this ladle permits the design of a sculpted ergonomic handle for a better grip than traditional flat handled tools. It also works to transfer less heat so you don't end up holding an uncomfortably hot utensil. You'll be well equipped for mashing turnips, spuds, winter squash and other vegetables.
Amazon.com Review With a hollow, lightweight handle that's rounded on the bottom for comfort and designed to reduce wrist strain, this 13-1/2-inch masher feels terrific in the hand and is big enough to quickly mash potatoes or other vegetables--or to make applesauce--when family appetites expand outside the box. It's made of 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and is dishwasher-safe. The handle has a hole to facilitate hanging on a hook or peg, so the masher's graceful, lustrous beauty won't be concealed in a drawer. KitchenAid says the first year of the masher's lifetime warranty against defects is hassle-free; the company will ship a replacement at no cost and without question if a defect is detected. --Fred Brack

For light mashing only March 20, 2006 Michael E. Lee (New York, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This tool bent badly the first time I used it. I had to bend it back myself several times, in the midst of mashing four potatoes. Messy hassle.
Wish I could give it a big zero! October 17, 2004 Marcia this masher cannot stand up to pressure. the first time i used it the handle bent. do not waste your time or money. i would recommend buying an old wooden handled masher from a garage sale instead of this one. sorry kitchenaid...as a rule i like your products but not this time.
