1 out of 5 stars Worst soldering tool   February 29, 2008

It just does not work. Very frustrating tool. I've done quite a bit of soldering building proto boards, soldering/desoldering IC sockets, small components and this thing just does not work well enough to make a single solder joint. Splicing two wires with this is impossible. Not enough heat. If you want a decent portable iron, get a resistive or gas powered unit.
