Full power and features in a small attractive package. June 30, 2008 Rob O (NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this microwave for about a month now and I am extremely satisfied with both it's performance, features, and sleek design. This is probably the 5th microwave I have owned in 20 years, and I have to say it cooks more evenly and to the second than any other machine I have ever used. What I mean by "to the second" is that if a microwave dinner say, "4 1/2 - 5 minutes, let rest 2 minutes when done" and you choose the higher number (5 minutes) and hit the timer for 2 minutes when it's done - perfection (as a microwave meal can be, of course). It also has a large number of programming features that would benefit the major meal cooking multi-tasker. With an easy to clean black plastic door and keypad, and brushed stainless top and bottom accents, it is also a very attractive addition to any kitchen.
Pretty satisfied so far June 29, 2008 J. Huang (NY, NY USA) I was a little worry about other the surface scratch and reliability after reading other reviews. None happened to me. The factory reheat setup seems a little too much but not really a problem. We usually just set the time & go. It does look good and fit on the counter top.
First Rate at a Great Price June 22, 2008 Joseph H. Kirby III (Washington, DC) Sharp looking sharp, full of features and shortcuts. One button function for most common usages (such as popcorn or reheating a dinner plate). It takes up very little space but has a lot of power for a small microwave. If you have a small kitchen you could do a lot worse than this little gem.
just as we expected June 9, 2008 Sarah Cooper (Little Deer Isle, ME United States) microwave is for apartment, so we didn't use it ourselves. However it is just as we expected and that's fine. The microwave cover came a day or so later. We prefer it to the one we were using, so we put our old one in the apartment.
Pretty but very basic June 8, 2008 Hangmeup (Illinois) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was forced to replace my old 800 watt microwave which I owned for about six years. I was stunned that there were very few small microwaves for sale in the stores (I live in the Chicagoland area - we have just about every store imaginable). I had done my initial research online and settled on a Sharp, since they all had favorable reviews. I really chose this one for its looks, and I am sorry I did. I didn't really think about the features my old microwave had that I had grown dependent on - the "quick on" feature that I could just press "quick" then "5" to cook for 5 minutes, and even the green glowing LED time-of-day light. My advice - if you are replacing an old unit, really think about the features that you use the most, and look for those in your replacement. This unit is pretty, but subject to fingerprinting (stainless steel - duh). It is very lightweight - it almost feels like a can that can dent. I hate the LED display - I can't see it when the sun is bright in my kitchen. It is a little slower to cook than my last 800 watt machine. For a basic machine it is OK, but for everyday kitchen use, keep looking.
