2 out of 5 stars Do not recommend   June 5, 2008

We've had our LG for about 2+ years. While the concept is great - I love the look and not pestering kids to put the toaster away, I would not buy this product again. The microwave works fine. It is easy to use and as a stand alone, I would give it 4-stars. The toaster is the problem. I would give it a 1-star. It does not toast evenly, but that is assuming you can get the toaster to work. The door to the toaster does not shut properly and frequently does not start. When you do get it to start toasting, the door will lose the connection required to run and will stop before the toasting time is up. I've tried taping the door shut and that worked for a little while, but doesn't any more. The other day I spent a good 5 minutes just trying to get the toaster to start. The kids have started toasting their bread in the skillet! I'm ready to go back to two units. It is just not worth the frustration!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Space Saver but Questionable Overall   April 15, 2008

    Summary:
If you are short on space, this may be an excellent option. I would definitely stay away if children will be (even on accident) using the device. Otherwise, I would reconsider due to the overall cosmetic quality and higher than average price tag.

    Pros:
    ---Stainless Steel Look.
    ---Sleek Controls.
---Microwave functions well considering it is only a 900W model, heating very quickly unlike other low powered models. (Unsure as to why)
---Toasted objects are easy to remove as they slide out when you open the door. The crumb tray is also very easy to empty without creating a mess.
---Fan Operated Toaster helps to evenly cook objects.
---Child lock is complicated enough to keep most kids away.

    Cons:
---Stainless surface shows all finger prints and can be difficult to clean.
---During and after toaster use, a fan equivalent to what you hear when you use a Microwave is heard. The fan continues to run several minutes after the toaster is done.
---The toaster door opens flat, exposing a very hot metal surface after use which can easily burn skin. CHILDREN should not be allowed to use this device from the standpoint you can easily burn yourself attempting to remove the toasted object if reaching from below.
---Side panel is a painted silver surface which feels and looks cheap, essentially voiding the whole reason you purchase a stainless steel product. If installing on a shelf, this is not a problem.
---Toaster Door has a knob which sticks out badly since the microwave door handle is recessed.
---Controls are difficult to visitors to learn how to use due to the placement of buttons and lack of a number pad.
---You cannot operate the toaster and microwave at the same time.

1 out of 5 stars Worst Microwave Ever.   April 1, 2008

I purchased this microwave here on Amazon, and it arrived about two weeks later. It doesn't work at all. It just doesn't heat up the food. 3 calls to lg customer services got me nowhere, they refused to help me get it repaired. Please stay away from such a shoddy product.

The toaster is a great space saver and convenient too. Now we eat more toasted bread and bagels. The toaster has a fan which was a surprise to hear but it is not too loud and turns off automatically.

Wish the interior of the microwave was stainless steel as well. The microwave has an easy to adjust dial to set run-times and the kitchen timer is a handy feature.
