I struggled for years to do hard cooked eggs on the stove top with inconsistent results. I tried various techniques from cookbooks and the Internet. But with this device I get perfect results every time.
Two minor tricks. I needed to experiment to get the correct time for my microwave oven. Took me three tries. Also you need to fill the water into the lower half to the mark or the water will boil at the wrong rate.

I keep this egg cooker on my countertop, and use it frequently. It's so easy, and I just cook my eggs for 9 minutes in my 700 watt compact microwave oven, let them sit for a while - sometimes I forget them altogether, but the cooker makes very good hard boiled eggs. I have never cooked less than 4, and always make sure I have enough water in the bottom. No explosions here.

finally no more tough boiled eggs because I forgot about the eggs on the stove or ignored the timer, or didn't hear the timer. Tender delicious eggs! WAY TOO EASY to ever get wrong.

Once you get the cooking time correct this cooker is a pleasure to use.
