| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Designed to cook with little liquid and no oil by sealing in steam and circulating it for a convection-cooking effect, this stovetop three-in-one cooking system prepares healthful, low-fat meals--up to three courses at once. The base pan has a nonstick interior, is made of aluminum to heat quickly and uniformly, and has a helper handle. It "steam-fries" meat, poultry, and seafood by itself, or it can be used in combination with either or both of the Turbo Cooker's other two pieces: a steaming rack and a springform pan. There are two grooves in a ledge running around the pan. The Cooker's domed lid--topped by a stay-cool knob that contains a steam vent--fits securely into one groove, creating a seal for steam produced in the pan. The steaming rack fits securely into the other groove, where it can be used to cook vegetables and/or hold the Cooker's 10-inch springform pan, which "steam-bakes" cakes, quiches, soufflés, etc. The Turbo Cooker is accompanied by an instruction video. Also included are 15 turbo-cooker recipe cards and 15 "under-15-minute" recipe cards for quick meals. --Fred Brack

Turbo cooker rocks! July 5, 2007 G. Berry 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Most of the junk you see on tv infomercials is just that: junk. This is the rare exception. The turbo cooker is an excellent all-around cooking device that allows very fast steaming, stir-frying, and just about anything else you can do on a stove top. We've had one for several years and it's my wifes favorite pan. Like all the teflon-coated stuff, though, after years of use and an occasional "oops" (meaning badly burned food), it was time to send her pan to the trash bin. This meant an immediate assignment for me to replace it. Fortunately, Amazon had them in stock! This is one pan you won't regret purchasing.
Turbo Cooker not so great May 19, 2007 Davee Kaplan (Chula Vista, CA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I previously had a Culinare Quick Cooker, which is another quick cooker that looked almost identical to the turbo cooker. It was my favorite cooking gadget and I used it multiple times a week. After a couple of years, I simply used it up, the non-stick surface gave out. When I looked for the Culinare, it was only available in foreign markets and I didn't have experience or confidence buying overseas directly. I knew two almost identical cookers came out at the same time so I tried the Turbo Cooker. The non-stick surface seemed to weaken on the first one or two uses. The food doesn't taste nearly as good as with the Culinare. I've used it maybe six times and rarely reach for it anymore when cooking. I think a wok would be a better choice.
base pan August 13, 2006 Carol B (CARIBBEAN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The product offers a healthy way of cooking but I agree the material used to make the product is inferior. Just under a year of purchase while cooking the base exploded and a fairly large hole appeared at the bottom. I can no longer use the product.I still like the product as a cook and I AM HOPING THE COMPANY will assist me with having the base replaced. Generally when using the product it could be a bit time consuming to have to add water at times, but the plus is if you take your time to understand how to use it the food usually tastes good and it is healthy.
Great cooker!Yummy!!! January 13, 2006 Julie (Massachusetts) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Yummy meals!!!I have two of these Turbo Cookers because the serving portions for certain recipes are pretty small. It is so fast and simple!I love it!I do add a little extra water for the recipes and cook an extra minute or two for certain recipes, though.(and stir a couple of times)I ordered some extra recipe cards and there are tons of delicious meals!!A+++
Must read all of the directions! October 25, 2005 Lisa Epsimos (Lynn Ma) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have read some reviews and they go one-way or the other. You can tell who read the directions and who didn't. I am eating chicken that I cooked in it right now and to quote my husband "it is the best Chicken ever!" Some of the recipes are hard to get perfect because stovetop temps vary so much. Once you get the right temp and use the right times opening and closing the valve when it tells you, you can make some great meals. My favorite has to be the whole chicken. It's crispy on the outside and falls off the bone because it is so tender. A whole bird takes 25 minutes! I don't get home from work until 5pm so that is a good thing. Clean up is great because you only have one pan to clean up. I don't get into many of the cakes and deserts but for meat and veggies you can't beat it. My advise is don't give up. Read the directions and adjust your stove top temp a little here or there and you will be happy.
