Amazon.com Review Pressure cooking uses pressurized steam to cook healthy meals with beans, grains, meat, poultry, and seafood in much less time than many other cooking methods require. Made in Spain, this Splendid pressure cooker holds a maximum capacity of 4 quarts of Italian chicken soup or beans with sausage and works on all heat sources. The cooker is constructed of high-quality 18/10 stainless steel with an encapsulated aluminum base for even and efficient heat distribution. For safety, the pressure cooker has dual pressure settings on its handle--one in a dial control and another on a valve. Other safety measures include two pressure release valves and a locking handle to prevent the unit from opening while under pressure. A visual indicator lets you know when all the pressure has been released and the cooker is ready to open. This pressure cooker is dishwasher-safe. --Cristina Vaamonde From the Manufacturer | Fagor is Green: Fagor's mission is to use resources efficiently to preserve the environment and save energy, developing highly efficient products that consume less and save money; contributing to a healthy planet for us and our future generations. Good Pressure Cooker! July 3, 2008 Jimbo89 (NJ, USA) This one is great the Splendid Model. I bought the dual model but it did not keep the steam in as good as this model for brewing stews and stuff, where it has to be under pressure for a while. I liked this model much better.
Very nice June 15, 2008 Snow White (sunny southwest) I acquired this pressure cooker quite unexpectedly a week ago, but have found that so far it has been a treasure. I am impressed with the ease of operation, and how well it maintains full pressure even on the lowest burner setting. It's easy to clean too. I use Barkeeper's Friend(non-abrasive cleaner)to maintain it's shiny look.
Best of the best. March 15, 2008 E. Haydock We are european and do a LOT of veggies in the pressure cooker. We use this every day. It is easily the best pressure cooker we have ever owned (and we have owned a lot of them over the years)
great December 28, 2007 sq (westbury, new york) Love the size and ease of use. Easy to clean aswell. I have used the Fagor brand before and stick to that brand name.
Major Flaw, Warranty is a Sham April 28, 2006 D. Friedkin 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
If you intend to use this cooker every Thanksgiving holiday or something it'll suffice, but it is not worthy of regular usage. It a has flaw that will eventually cause it to fail and don't expect satisfaction from the warranty. The purple plastic piece, that locks the handle on, sits on the rim of the pot and is directly exposed to the high heat and pressure. Over several years of moderate usage--Once every week or two for about 15 minutes under pressure at the lowest possible heat to maintain pressure--this piece melted and deformed. Finally the unit, no longer able hold pressure, ceased to function. Though the warranty says "This pressure cooker is guaranteed to free from defects in material" I was very frustrated in dealing with this company in seeking redress. I suppose they do not have a real warranty, it seems to be just a sales hook. The person I dealt with was idiotic. This company showed to me that they are not interested in taking care of their customers or standing behind their products.
