Turning this year's bounty of plums into preserves or pickling some hot chilies? This seven-piece canning set from Fagor has everything you'll need to get started on a canning project. The kit includes a canning rack that holds up to four jars at a time and fits within any Fagor 10-quart pressure cooker. When sterilization is complete, the plastic-coated jar lifter clutches jars tightly in its tongs and lifts them out of hot water without risk of slippage or burning while the magnetized vinyl-coated jar lifter safely removes the lids. The kit also includes a heavy-duty stainless-steel ladle for spooning stewed fruits or vegetables into the stainless-steel wide-mouth funnel and siphoning it into your jars. A long plastic tong frees bubbles from the jars before you seal them and a jar wrench, also vinyl-coated, tightens lids with force while simultaneously keeping hands cool and providing a firm grip. Although the accessories in the this kit are very useful, the water bath basket is very small and not suitable for large canning projects.

I got this along with a pressure cooker/canner as a gift. Some of the "tools" included are helpful while some have never been unwrapped. Specifically:
USEFUL
magnetic wand
jar "lifter"
jar "rack"
funnel (fits jars better than ones I had)
NOT SO USEFUL
the plastic bubble releaser
the jar tightener
ladle (I already have a couple of these)
Is it worth getting the set? For most people...probably, yes.

This kit has everything a home canner could want. The invention of the magnetized stick to lift the lids from boiling water is positively genius.
The picture might imply that the pot comes with the kit. It does not, but the equipment fits anything you are already using. You'll be very glad you made this modest investment.Fagor Home Canning Kit

The magnetic lid lifter is so weak it barely works. There are other things that are just unnecessary. Keep looking. I advise against.
Accessories for canning August 13, 2007

I had purchased a pressure cooker (Fagor 10 qt) without realizing that these accessories were really necessary. The kit includes everything that is needed to use the pressure cooker properly. All of the items are of good quality (metal funnel, rack, jar lifter etc). The only mistake I made was not taking advantage of the combination order (pressure cooker plus accessories).
