Product Description Make fresh steamed lobster in 3 minutes, or bean soup in 20 minutes. Risotto? No more standing at the stove stirring for half an hour, you can enjoy moist risotto in 7 minutes! As for ease of operation, here's how it works: load the ingredients, lock the lid in place, select the pressure, and begin cooking. When the food is done simply release the pressure and serve. Your food will be healthier because all the water soluble vitamins and minerals are retained. You'll also enjoy the tender taste of slow cooking and the natural flavors and colors of your food. But best of all? Your cooking time will be reduced by up to 70%!

The box said Fagor but not the cooker March 3, 2008 Derek Kanson (Minneapolis, MN USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered the Fagor Professional Duo 10-qt. Pressure Cooker and Canner and was really looking forward to getting it as it had stellar reviews. The box was for exactly what I ordered but lurking inside was a Chinese made Kitchen Essentials cooker with a non-stick surface. I notified Amazon of this anomaly and they happily exchanged the product for a true Fagor product. Alas, the same thing happened the second time. I won't use non-stick and returned the second cooker too. I suppose Amazon cannot be faulted if Fagor is hiding inferior products in their boxes but it would have saved everyone a lot of grief if someone at the warehouse could have looked inside to see if the Fagor box contained an actual Fagor cooker or an imposter. I still would like to receive what I ordered but am afraid the result would be similar.
Product has packaging problem February 15, 2008 Timothy A. Dunford (Fernandina Beach, FL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The first order was as a Christmad gift for my son. when opening the package he found the pressure cooker had a broken handle. I had that one replaced and a second one shipped to him. Upon opening the package this one had a broken handle as well. Obviously there is a fundamental problem with the packaging.
Teflon version delivered in stainless steel packaging, TWICE! January 26, 2008 Aaron Cohn 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered the stainless steel 10q pressure cooker. The Teflon design, which sells for less, was delivered in the packaging made for the stainless steel design. When I had Amazon replace the pressure cooker, they sent another Teflon design in the stainless steel packaging. Apparently, Fagor has packaged its cheaper design in packaging designed for the more expensive version.
Great for cooking & canning January 23, 2008 Amanda M. Waack 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'd been looking to do some canning and got this as a gift... PROS It's easy to use with a simple pressure indicator and lid lock. The nonstick surface inside has been a cinch to clean after cooking! I've canned quart jars, although I'm not sure if quarts are "recommended" CONS The handle on the main pot is only attached with one screw...no matter how much I tighten the screw down, it seems as though the handle comes slightly loose when dumping an entire pot of liquid (like after canning). This hasn't affected the functionality of the pot, but it did scare me the first time I tried to dump the water out (the pot is very heavy when filled, and although the handle only gave slightly, it still was an "oh!" moment!) All in all, a very good product, and the included cookbook gives you a nice start on some basic recipes for the pot.
Not the advertised product! January 14, 2008 Erik Albert Bowen 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
EDIT: Fagor got it together finally! I ordered the 10 Qt from another online retailer with special instructions to NOT send me the Teflon coated one, and after a couple months they finally sent me the correct cooker. Fagor was nice, they even sent me an 8 Qt to make up for all my troubles. After using both of these cookers for the past few months, I can say that they're great! Best bang for the buck as far as pressure cookers go, and very high quality. Thanks Fagor! Old review: Just as happened to another customer, I have TWICE been shipped the wrong item! I ordered a Fagor Duo 10 qt Pressure Cooker, and instead I received a Fagor Cook's Essentials 10 qt Pressure Cooker packaged in a Duo box with a Duo manual! The Cook's Essentials is lined with TEFLON, which is why I don't want it. The Duo has no Teflon in it. This is absolutely ridiculous! I explained the problem in both an email AND a phone call, and Amazon still has been unable to get it right! Somebody needs to go down to the warehouse, and check what's actually inside the box before sending the product, since the box says "Duo" but the handle of the pressure cooker says "cook's essentials," which means that the product in the box is NOT the product printed on the box! EDIT: Amazon said they were sending me another replacement (this is the second time). But when it arrived, it was the same thing!: Cook's Essentials pressure cooker in a Duo box, with a duo manual. Now, since I sent it back again, instead of correcting the problem and sending me a Duo they are just going to refund my money. So, I suspect that they are going to continue trying to pass off the Cook's Essentials as the Duo. Buyer beware! EDIT: Fagor says they have begun to look at this problem, so hopefully it will be corrected soon.
