5 out of 5 stars About Time   May 8, 2008
J. Sizemore
I have used a pressure cookers for years. I gave my old one to my sester-law. then I order the one from the man who cooks for the starts. That was terrible. It was flimsy and hard to keep the pressure. The Cuisinart is fantastic, it's well built and so easy to operate. The first night I received it I made squash soup, it took twenty minutes in the other cooker and 10 in the Cuisinart. I really love it. I know I will enjoy it for years. John Sizemore Charleston, South Carolina

This is a real time saver and the food tastes great.
Great investment.

5 out of 5 stars Electric Pressure Cooker   April 28, 2008

Great new break through in pressure cookers. Bought for wife, she loves it. Had a manual pressure cooker for many many years, now she would never go back, this one takes the chore out of cooking. Just set it and let it go.

5 out of 5 stars super fast, high quality appliance   April 12, 2008
Carmine Taverna (east coast of the big apple)
I have been the cook in my house of 6 for 30 years. This appliance has made cooking time all but go away. Stew in less than 1 hour, corned beef in 82 min. Buy this high quality appliance, it is worth th $130. Very safe, you or your family members cannot open it while there is any pressure in the pot, many safety's built in....the book that is in the box is your guide to cooking a dinner in less than 45 min for a one pot meal!

4 out of 5 stars Hefty price, but worth it   April 8, 2008

This [ASIN:B000MPA044 Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte Black]]replaces a 20+ year-old stove-top pressure cooker. I kind of miss the sputter, whoosh, and clatter of that venerable old pot, for the Cuisinart electric is almost stealth-mode quiet. For its first use I picked a really tough cut of meat (normally takes a full 2.5 hrs in regular non-pressure pot)and it was done perfectly in 22 minutes flat. The removable cooking container is a great convenience, as are the braising/browning features. The accompanying directions could be a little clearer (illustrations are for the super-sighted)and it took a little time to get the hang of it, but this is a really excellent unit, nicely designed, well worth its cost.
