Works ok, but take it easy! June 1, 2008 CosmicHam (Michigan) As some others have indicated, these KitchenAid blender attachments are more or less novelties... not made to the same "industrial" standards as the blenders themselves... but still functional. I bought one despite all the warnings, and I'm glad I did. If you follow the directions and don't overload it, it does a decent job. I've used it to make ham and turkey salad, and on leftover chicken breasts for Quesadillas. If you take your time and you only need to prepare enough for a meal, I don't think you will be disappointed. Just don't plan on grinding a whole deer for venison sausage.
Great Attachment for the Kitchen Aid Mixer! May 25, 2008 Javagirl 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just started to grind my own meat due to the high cost of food and I purchased this last month and I love it. It does a top notch job at grinding all sorts of meat. I purchased a whole chicken, cut it up, and ground the skin and all and it didn't miss a beat. I've also ground lamb and sirloin and it worked well with those too. I would highly recommend it. Clean up is easy too. It comes apart easily and all the pieces cleaned up nicely.
Very useful attachment May 17, 2008 Carlo Di Fiore 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very nice product and works very well grinding with little effort. It surprised me it worked this well. I recommend buying as attachment for Kitchen Aid Mixer. My wife uses it for meat and vegetables and is completely satisfied.
Kitchen Aid Food Grinder May 8, 2008 Judith A. Pula (Pembroke,Massachusetts) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the KitchenAid Food Grinder because I bought my husband the Kitchen Aid Mixer and he loves hamburger but it has become so expensive and we try to eat the one with less fat. With the Kitchen Aid Grinder, we can watch for sales on all kinds of beef and grind it in the grinder and it is cheaper and absolutely delicious. We also make a sandwich which all my family loves. You ask the deli for a chunk of bologna 1/2 0r 1lb. (depends on how much you want) Then get a lg jar of polish spears or just some kind of dill pickles. Take the bologna and grind it, then take 1/2 jar of pickles for 1/2 lb bologna (1 jar for lb.) Grind the pickles into another bowl. Mix together with mayonaisse (we like Helmanns the best). Its up to you how much of the pickle juice you'll want if you wnat more flavor put some juice in, just try not to get it to wet. If you have or get a grinder I hope you'll try this. It sounds awful to people but once they taste it they usually get hooked. Again a great machine and I'm sure you can come up with some other recipes or ways to use it. If you do I'd love to have you share them with me. My email is: [...]
I love this attachment for my Kitchenaid April 5, 2008 J. Cox (North Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Easy to use. Pretty easy to clean up. Works great. Has several uses but I buy chuck roasts on sale then cut part for shish-kebabs and part in strips (faster and easier than chunks)to feed into the grinder (2x) for hamburgers, meatloaf etc. When I was checking reviews I read only a couple negatives from people who expected this to grind up anything/any size, like a commercial unit. Just treat it nicely and don't expect it to be what it isn't.
