The Kitchen Aid FVSFGA for stand mixers saved us numerous hours when we made our own spiced tomato juice. We weren't aware of the existence of this product until our daughter informed us about it after watching us go through the tedious process of grinding and straining our vegetables using the manual old-fashioned juicer. We were able to process more than 50 quarts of spiced tomato juice in a tenth of the time it would have taken us by using the previous method. It was definitely a timesaver!

Since I got the strainer I made two batches of applesauce with it. It makes a smoother sauce and the cleanup is a breeze compared to the Victorio No 200 strainer I used to use. And of course there is no hand cranking involved. For larger amounts an optional larger food tray would be helpful. So far I have not had a chance to use the grinder on meat yet.

However, this stuff is WAY too expensive for what you get. Wish someone would make a knock-off on these kitchenaid accessories.

Every year we can our own tomato sauce, with the Kitchenaid strainer and food grinder there is no more stewing and straining those tomatos...that lovely task can take all day. Now all we do is put the tomatos through the strainer then straight to the stove to cook down until there ready to be jarred. This product saves so much time, and there isn't a gi-normo mess to clean up afterwords. I also love the shredder. I buy cheese in bulk and shred it all at once in minutes; also wonderful to shred vegtables for making bread. With the kitchen aid and all it's attachments you'll find yourself doing so much more in the kitchen; all those things that seem like too much work are no longer. KitchenAid Artisan 5-qt.
