Awesome blender for over 7 years! July 23, 2007 Mother at Home (Ithaca, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband and I received this blender as a wedding gift. We make orange julius on a regular basis and it has always done a fabulous job of chopping the ice and making a smooth drink. We don't have to turn it off and shake out air pockets to make it blend properly, and we don't have drinks with surprise chunks of ice (so annoying!). After more than 7 years of heavy use the motor finally burned out. We bought 2 or 3 other blenders but returned them all and bought this blender again since we had loved our old one so much. We are now happily blending away again. Our new one came with the food processor cup. Some people have complained that it isn't a good food processor. I haven't used my food processor attachment, so I really don't know. My opinion is, it's a great blender. If you want a great food processor, then buy a food processor, not a blender.
Unbeatable for the price July 8, 2007 M. McCann 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I know it isn't a full-sized food processor, but given that fact, there is nothing I don't like about this combination. The motor is powerful, and mine has been working like a trooper for over 5 years. The blender is glass - no leaching of carcinogens into acidic beverages like the plastic blenders. It would probably be better to have a glass bowl for the food processor, but since there are (to the best of my knowledge) no glass food processors out there, I can live with this part being plastic. Be certain that the impeller is fully seated before starting the machine - otherwise the blades won't spin (see one review below). This is a great machine (actually two great machines) at a fantastic price.
This was not a good buy July 6, 2007 Chris in NH (New Hampshire) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought this blender in May 2006 and used it once during the summer of 2006. We used it for only the 2nd time today and it burned out after the second batch of drinks. It is just past the warranty period. It may be a fluke but we will not buy another Oster blender.
Great Customer Service!!! June 16, 2007 H 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had mine for a couple of months and it worked great but the adapter for the food processor stopped working one day. I realize now not to ever wash it; it is an electrical device. I called customer service and they replaced it free of charge. I was so impressed that I had to leave a comment. I recommend Oster products from now on because they have great customer service. The part arrived on the very morning I decided to use the food processor! Perfect timing!
great blender for a great price May 25, 2007 Shellguffey (Seattle, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this blender over 7 years ago as a wedding gift. It finally gave out on me when the spinning mechanism broke. So now I'm in need of a new blender and have been researching them for the last few days to see what my options are. As far as I can tell, this is the best buy for my money, especially with the extra attatchment. The only bad thing I can say about this blender is that it is pretty loud. As far as I'm concerned, a blender that costs less than $40 and lasts over 7 years is a great deal.
