I did a lot of research on blenders before committing to this one, including polling friends and family with discerning taste when it comes to cooking and appliances. I ended up choosing this one based on its simplicity and the three year warranty, a rarity in most anything you can purchase today. This model is simple, easy to clean, nice looking, and most importantly, has an awesome way with Margaritas and smoothies. And it isn't nearly as loud as I feared it would be based on what many of the other reviewers had said. I highly recommend it.

This thing BLENDS. Only has two speeds, fast and really fast. Very powerful. Built like a tank.
The fast speed is a momentary switch - i.e., it only works as you hold the switch down. The really fast speed stays on once you switch it on.
Only issue is there's some ozone smell - faint. Not sure if this is a sign of motor problem.

I was having trouble making strawberry smoothies for my kids' breakfasts with our old blender. It just couldn't handle whole frozen strawberries. With this Oster Professional Series blender, it's no problem. I throw some yogurt and about 2 cups of frozen strawberries in, flip the switch, and soon we have perfectly blended smoothies.
It's simple to use, powerful, and beautifully styled.

When shopping for blenders, I found that no blender or manufacturer is perfect. However, this one comes close. It does a fantastic job with smoothies, shakes. Ice is tricky. You have to add ice a little at a time but it is much better than the refrigerator ice crusher. Noise factor is well unavoidable. If you can't stand the noise don't bother using a powerful blender. I decided on this model because of the all metal drive. It has to be more durable than the cheap plastic ones you see on all the others. The machine overall is heavy and sturdy. It's style is somewhat retro and looks good on the counter. The cons are a cheap cover lid to the jar. Its a rubber compound and is flimsy. It's new and intact but gives me the feeling it won't last as long as the machine. Overall I'd rate this as the best blender for the price compared to the ones I've owned previously.

This blender is as Good as it gets. The price is very reasonable. It crushes ice with no problem and it's Great looking. With its glass container it has enough weight to stay put. Buy it and you'll Love it too.
