If you don't clean this grinder regularly where the plastic top fits...the on button will appear not to work because you need a tight fit. Thats why they provide a cleaning brush. I've had my grinder for 1.5 years now and its only now that its not working because the plastic top has cracked from me dropping it. This grinder makes the finest grind for espresso that I know...that's in comparison to the other 4 grinders I have in my cupboard that I've retired due to a poor grind and difficulty cleaning.

If you only plan to drink coffee for the next month or two, buy this grinder!! It was truly one of the best and we'll miss it. One of the coolest features was the safety catch that needs to be engaged for the grinder to work. This protects your fingers from (1) getting through the sealed plastic cover, then (2) working their way over the lip of the metal grinding bowl, and (3) slipping down into the nasty metal blades. Only problem is that after a week or two you have to hold the whole apparatus to keep the latch engaged. After three or four months (if you use it every morning)the little nubs gets rubbed down so no matter what you do the grinder won't work ever again, keeping you fingers safe forever!!!!

I did a lot of internet comparison shopping before deciding to purchase this nifty little coffee grinder, and I haven't regretted my decision. It's fast, simple to adjust and to operate, easy to clean, and does a great job of grinding our coffee just the way we like it. We've had it for over six months with no problems whatsoever.

Bought this grinder looking for something to grind enough coffee for my wife and I, we drink one or two pots a day. After a week of use, it began smoking and something had clearly burned out. Returned promptly without question from Amazon.
Contrast this to the $20 grinder from Walmart I bought a few years ago that performed just as well, but only wore out when the plastic literally broke apart at the seam holding the lid down.

It's not a fancy burr grinder, but it does really well for the price. It has 5 settings, so if you aren't too picky I recommend it! You will never buy pre-ground coffee again. The difference is amazing! And the cord wrap keeps everything from getting tangled in the pantry.
