I like the insulated carafe! November 15, 2008 C. dupuis (california) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Be sure you buy the BD15 vs 17. This is the height of the unit and the 17" will not fit under most US counters. The carafe does keep the liquid hot for 12 hours as advertised. I don't know why people rate the turn top as difficult to loosen. You don't have to screw it down so hard-dah! I am a scuba diver and you learn to tighten the knob and then back it off just slightly...this can be true for many things in life! I switched to this type of make because I am tired of a glass carafe which has no insulatory capacity and also breaks very easily. Buy it!
This Thing Stinks November 15, 2008 Mander 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just packed up my second one to be returned. I never even got to the point of making coffee. Both units leaked water out of the main tank, and not just a little. The first one leaked so bad that I had several cups of water on the counter before I dumped it back out and this was while I was trying to put coffee in the filter. Don't waste your time.
Zojirushi Better Than Braun Thermal November 14, 2008 Loyal Amazon Shopper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have the Braun KF 600 and it stopped working after a few months so I purchased the Zojirushi and was pleasantly surprised. The Zojurishi brews a better, faster pot of coffee and keeps it hotter in the thermal carafe much longer than the Braun. It is also half the price of the Braun. It is rare that you find find a better product at a lower price, but the Zojirushi fits the bill. I am pretty picky about my coffee maker and I am very impressed by this product.
Not Good For Less Than Full Pot November 12, 2008 W. Kalfur (Gig Harbor, WA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This coffee maker is fine if you make a full pot. The optimal brewing temp is 200 degrees and this one comes close at 180-185 degrees. The problem is there is no setting for making less than a full pot. The ideal brew time is 6 min, so with half a pot, the brew time is about 3 min, resulting in weak tasting coffee.
Great coffee! November 11, 2008 Sunshine (Lewiston, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used our coffee maker for about 2 weeks now and we love it! We buy the number 4 filters(Tops band) and it fits fine. When I don't use the timer, I usually like to rinse the carafe with hot water first, before I start to brew. It keeps the coffee hotter for longer. Best coffee maker that I have ever purchased.
