Excellent Cookware/Value Priced January 18, 2008 C. Scott (Virginia) I purchased this cookware as a gift for my boyfriend. He's a great cook and had recently purchased a hanging potrack for his kitchen. He happened to comment to me several months before Christmas, how old he thought his cookware looked now that it was hanging out and easily seen by everyone. Admittedly he was using cookware he had had in college! Since he has a super track record for actually cooking great meals, I figured an investment in a set of cookware was worth it for him for Christmas. He was very happy with the gift, and has discovered that the design does transfer heat evenly, and after cooking cleanup is a breeze! I loved the price! And, I love the meals!
Great Money Spent December 21, 2007 Heather Hamilton (Chandler, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this set many months ago when it was even cheaper than it is now. It has taken me awhile to come to the conclusion that this is the best set of cookware I've ever owned. Now, I'm like many people who "SHOP" for products. I did my homework and there is no doubt that all-clad is the best. I considered all-clad and have several pieces, but Calphalon is by far the best set for the money. I mean, come on, $1000???. I can't afford that, and if I could I'd like a chef to come with it. And another thing, I'm not super gentle with my pans and for the price of this set I don't feel guilty about banging them around. For cooking in stainless steal I have been on a learning curve. I've done a great job cooking with these pans. They heat fast, cook evenly, and maintain heat. So far the only part to get too hot to the touch is the handle on top of the glass lid. Oh yea, I love the glass lid :o) To be able to see the food cooking without having to let heat out to peek is wonderful. Cooking is fast with these pans as proof that I didn't exactly burn my clam chowder tonight, but I did stick it to the bottom because my timing was off. Hey, I'm still learning. Stuck/burned food cleaned up fast and easy. I couldn't believe how the chowder came off the bottom with a tiny bit of scrubbing. People complain about staining...I tested this problem. I got some color change when I just hand washed a pan. I tried scrubbing the stain out and it wouldn't budge. I got barkeepers friend and the discoloration just came right out. I don't like the smell of barkeepers friend and I don't trust that is cleans the pan, so I only use it get out the discoloration that appears once in awhile. Keep in mind that these pans are easy to clean, but every so often you will get a stain. As for washing in the dishwasher or hand washing, I don't know. I don't have a diswasher yet. It's sitting in a box waiting for plan approval from the city for my new kitchen. Until then I love love love my calphalon stainless pans. I cook on a hot plate with them and wash them in my bathroom sink. When I get my dishwasher I'll update this review as to how I feel. But then again, I've always been one to hand wash my knives, pots/pans, and china, I'm not sure if I could stick these in the dishwasher. I recommend this set to everyone. And for the price of under $200 ($150) if you catch the super deal these are the best bang for the buck and then some.
Great set!! November 3, 2007 Teresa Beard (Rochester, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this set!! I've purchased less expensive sets in the past that have always started to fall apart after the first year of regular use, and they could never be used in the oven. These are heavy duty pans with solid glass lids that look great, heat evenly and clean up quickly, and the price is reasonable. And to those of you who feel "lied to" - the insert clearly makes a distinction between the various types of Calphalon cookware, and putting the stainless pans in the diswasher WILL NOT void the warranty. The non-stick omelet pans do need to be handwashed, but that has been the case with every non-stick pan I've ever owned.

Good Value for Price--Non-Stick Pans a Plus December 23, 2006 David F. Della Lana (Waikiki, HI USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
First of all, LOVE the heat-resistant handles!!! Slow to heat (on electric range w/ceramic top), but heat distributes evenly & persists to keep food warm. Durable, but only modestly heavy (much lighter than cast iron), AND very quick to clean :) Non-stick pans lovely, but delicate surfaces (no metal utensils). Appears dishwasher safe to us (after several washings). Overall, very pleased with peformance for the monetary investment.
