Great Pan for Great Prince! October 13, 2007 J. T. Hwang (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is really a great grilll pan for the price. Though the grill marks don't compare to grilling on the charcoal grill (I really love to grill), it does a nice job when pan is pre-heated before searing steak. I can use this pan to char the outside for great texture and still leave the middle of thick steak nice and rare using gas stove. 12" is large enough that I can grill four smaller cuts of steaks or two porterhouse or T-bones and still have enough surface area to throw in cloves of garlc, cherry tomatoes and small potatoes. I would recommend this grill pan to anyone who enjoyes grilled foods, but don't have time or access to an outdoor gas or charcoal grill.
Cooks food well September 23, 2007 morbidz28 (New Jersey) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This pan is large, good quality, vegetables come nicely grilled, not mushy. On the downside grill marks are not prominent and do not use it with metal utensils despite what the box says! Its scratches easily...
Great for indoor grilling! September 19, 2007 L. Hines (Westminster, CO) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my first grill pan. I am still learning how to cook, and I purchased the Cuisinart 17 pc cookware set. This grill pan now makes my cookware set complete! I enjoy my steaks rare, so I got the grill pan really hot the first time I used it. It seared the meat nicely on the outside so it was still juicy and red on the inside. I had beautiful grill marks, too. I saw other reviews complaining about the grill marks, but mine came out nice (perhaps because the pan was on high heat?). I have a flat ceramic cooktop stove, and this pan worked perfectly on it. The pan is the same size as my largest burner, but I did not have any heat issues since the heat dispersed evenly in the pan. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do indoor grilling! Also, I saw a tip from Alton Brown on the food network... sprinkle salt on the pan so it rests in the grooves to make for easier clean-up. Although the grooves are not very deep on this pan, it does assist with the already easy clean up (although you can't really get much easier due to the non-stick feature). Happy grilling!
GREAT PAN, BUT WISH GRILL MARKS WERE DEEPER June 21, 2007 kitchenade 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a lightweight pan of good size and superb clean up capabilities. I was hoping for a pan that would produce deeper grill marks, but the ridges are just too shallow to produce anything but the faintest of grill marks. For the money it is a fine pan and if grill marks are not important to you, go for it!
Great grill pan. June 2, 2007 Kelly C (Seattle, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is my first grill pan and I am very pleased with it overall. I love that its big enough to cook 4 pieces of fish or chicken or whatever. It has a great sear and is easy to clean. The only downside is that it doesn't always leave great grill marks as the ridges are pretty low. Other than that, I love it and can't believe the price.
