Hand wash and towel dry or they rust February 8, 2008 Danyal Womer (Hamilton, Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered these knives to treat myself because I deserve to have nice things. At first I was tickled with them they are eye catching and they are very sharp, They are the sharpest knives I have ever owned I sliced tomatoes so thin it looked like they came out of a slicer. I have been hand washing them right after I use them ( I have had them less than a month)and putting them back in there block for safe keeping. I have noticed that the steak knives have got rust spots on them, even if I leave them out to air dry before replacing them into their block they get rust spots, I tried scrubbing the rust off with a sos pad and it only scratched up my knife blade. These Knives have to be hand washed and towel dryed or they will rust. If they did not rust I would have rated them 4 stars however they did rust and I think that for as much as I paid for them ( 75.00 with shipping) they should not be rusting, I will probobly have to replace them in a year because it is a pain to wash and dry them as quickly as they seem to require so they don't rust. :-( I'm sad because I wanted to treat myself to something nice and I thought since they were expensive ( to me ) that they would last me forever and clearly they will not.
Very Poor quality knives, dull scissors January 28, 2008 Books NYC (Queens, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The price was low but for good reason, this was the worst purchase I have made on Amazon! The scissors were dull and the handle on the knives are very poor quality, well you get what you pay for! Do not buy this if you want to be severely disappointed!
A gushing review by a usually cynical buyer January 27, 2008 Not Easily Impressed (Georgia, USA) I, too, was wary about purchasing this set after reading the negative reviews but decided to take a chance so as not to miss a great one-day holiday sale price. Now my only regret is that I didn't buy MORE sets as gifts for family and friends! Shipping was lightning fast (especially for the xmas season), every piece arrived in perfect condition and, so far, these are the best knives I've ever used. I couldn't be happier with them and would gladly order them again.
Very Satisfied January 25, 2008 K. Cook (Yuma, AZ) I read all of the reviews on this product before I purchased it. There were some that were negative, When I received the knifes I was very, very surprised to find them quite nice and the block of wood seems to me that it should have cost what it did without the knifes!! I love the color red too.. I am very, very pleased and if they go on sale again I will purchase a few more for gifts!! What a great find this was! K
Great Knives January 18, 2008 Cringer (Coastal, RI USA) I read a lot of reviews that stated that the handles were cracked when received, but I was willing to see for myself since they were selling for just $35. I am absolutely satisfied! Great, sharp, beautiful knives. No cracks! So much better than my last, much more expensive, knife set. Would recommend to friends and family. This knife set lives up to the cuisinart name.
