Just disappointed February 7, 2008 J. Lutz 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well I would like to start off by saying that I love Amazon. I have never had any problems so far with returns or shipping. I was a little bit reserved about buying this set after reading the reviews on how it left water marks and stains after cooking. I read the other reviews and the actual user guide, as to not discolor my newly found kitchen tools. Unfortunately after the first use it not only had water stains, but had like little brown marks in the bottom of the inside and that was just from boiling eggs. My first reaction was well I'll just get the Barkeepers Friend. I read in some of the reviews that it would keep your pots looking new. Not so much. It did however get the rainbow colored water stains out. The little brown specks stayed. The surface where they were was still smooth. I did everything that was instructed, no high heat and wash with warm soapy water. Unfortunately I must have gotten a bad set. I'm not completely turned off by Cuisinart. I have other products besides cookware that I like. I have always wanted a decent set of pans that didn't have a coating. I can understand maybe a little discoloration, but not after its first use. I have only had the set for a few days and have asked for a refund. Amazon has set up for a UPS pick-up. I like that they don't give too much hassle if you are not satisfied. I was thinking of getting another brand of pots, but for right now I will stick with my good old cast iron and basic little set of El Cheapos until I find the right set for me.
Cuisinart Cookware January 30, 2008 Julia Childs 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice pots and pans, and delivered on time however the edge of the large frying pan was bent upon delivery. We found that it took much longer to boil water in the large pot, I suspect because these items aren't fully clad.
Always thought I HAD to have non-stick January 21, 2008 Gregory Pugh Had never considered stainless before, since I thought that only non-stick pans would clean up. Not so. These clean up well. They also heat up QUICKLY! Watch out or you'll burn stuff. You need less heat to do the same cooking - so maybe these are energy saving. Get the little 1 quart sauce pan to complete this set. The strainer for the large pot works well - keeps pasta off the bottom of the pot to keep it from burning - but you have to use more water to fill it as you don't use the bottom 1" of water. Getting the double boiler insert. GET BARKEEPERS FRIEND to clean these - it's amazing. All our pans still look like new. "Stainless but not Spotless" above should give this a try.
Great Value January 20, 2008 W. Myers (New Jersey) The Cuisinart Chef's Classic set is a great value compared to whats out there. Received this cookware about a month ago and they perform perfectly. They cook great and clean up is very easy. We have ours hanging on a rack and they look great also. Looking to buy some additional pieces.
First class - first rate December 26, 2007 Muffaletaman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Since we received this set and have used it with our new solid-surface cooktop, we see it cooks VERY evenly and on lower heat settings. Cleans easy too. This was an excellent choice.
